  1. Thats really good advice! Thanks so much:)
  2. Awe thanks so much:) yes i absolutely love everyone i work with and they are so helpful all the time. ive been working as a cna for a few months and patients ask TONS of questions. they would think i was the nurse sometimes or even know i was the cna and ask medical questions. then i could say that they should ask their nurse...well know i am the nurse so cant say that anymore lol. i will be fine...ya gotta start somewhere right?! good luck to you in your job search:)
  3. hello all. i just passed nclex on thursday:) have a job in telemetry as RN and i am very nervous to start. i worked as a CNA for the past 5 months so am kinda used to the hospital setting and i do love it. im mostly scared a patient is gonna ask me a question i dont know the answer to. is this normal? were you all nervous when you started your first job? any advice is much appreciated! thank u:)
  4. some people won't agree with me when i say this, but i would not take it until you are sure you are ready. i just took again for the 3rd time on thursday and i passed:) and i honestly pushed it back a week just to give myself a few more days to look over things i was kinda iffy about....good luck to you and i will keep you in my prayers! third time is a charm:)
  5. no problem:)
  6. i agree with the above i feel like i had nothing on nclex from hurst. i just took nclex for the 3rd time yesterday and am getting the good pop up. i SWEAR by saunders. i owe my passing to that book. i studied the 4th edition. i studied this time for about 3 weeks 8-10 hours a day monday thru friday. i answered thousands of questions and read every rationals...which plays a major part in learning. good luck to you
  7. sorry its under #2 not 3
  8. shmaylay you are so very welcome. it sounds like you are gonna do just fine!! you will never ever feel 100% ready...ever. but if you know the material and know how to answer the questions you will do great. you have to just be confident and tell yourself that you will pass. i was lacking confidence the first couple times i took it and that was a major part in passing i think. don't change answers either which i was very guilty of doing. i will pray that you will pass. check this link out too really good study guide under #3 of what they mention. good luck to you and if i can help you anymore i will be more than happy to:) https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/how-i-passed-588963.html
  9. Thank you!! I took it in Baton Rouge, La.
  10. Thank you! This first time I took it I used hurst. I feel like hurst really is good but it doesn't cover everything, but does help with making harder concepts seem simple. The second time I used kaplan. Kaplan is very good for explaining the best ways to help you answer questions. Would not pay for it again if I had to, but their questions are most like nclex. There are free kaplan questions on slideshare...you need to type in "kaplan question trainers" in the search button. The last time I studied, I used Saunders 4th edition. This is how I feel like I truly knew the material. The book is VERY long, well over 1000 pages, but I feel like it is a must to study with. I went through the entire book and made notes as I went, lots of notes. I also used lacharity's prioritization book bc these questions are a lot like nclex. There was a lot on the test that I didn't know, but if you know how to answer questions and break them apart it will help you tremendously. I did TONS of practice questions. Nclex 3500 has a free link on the internet to practice questions. YOu really need to do thousands and read every rationale, bc this is a lot of how you are going to learn. Just have confidence in yourself and don't take it until you are ready. I studied this last time probably 3 weeks 8-10 hours a day monday thru friday, and weeks bf I started doing qestions. Good luck to you and if I can help you anymore I would be more than happy to. We are all in this together:)
  11. took nclex yesterday and got good pop up!!! im in shock! when i went in to take my test i said this to myself about ten times "with God all things are possible" i prayed so much during my test. prayer is very powerful my friends. good luck and God bless you all
  12. Took nclex yesterday and got the good pop up!! It seems very surreal and that it's not true! I think I have done the pearsonvue trick 1000 times lol. Just want to say that this test is not impossible to pass. It took me three times and I really thought that I failed again. I had 202 questions, and no lie I probably had about 40 med questions, which I have never ever heard of. DEfinately don't blow off studying meds! Know the endings of drugs ex olol is beta blocker. Know side effects of meds!!! Had about 25 SATA, lots of priority questions, and a bunch of infection control. You really need to know your content. Please don't try to take the test unless you feel as though you are ready. Definately practice doing questions, and I mean thousands, before you take this test. Most importantly NEVER GIVE UP. I thought it was impossible that I was ever gonna pass this test but with a lot of studying and determination and GOD, I did it. YOU CAN DO THIS AND WILL DO THIS!! keep that in your head always. Have confidence. Know your material and practice practice practice. May God bless you all and may you all experience the happiness I feel right now:)
  13. took boards for 3rd time today and it shut off at 202....did pop up twice and says "this canditate has previously passed this exam...a new exam can not be scheduled" Is it true? did i pass????!!!! im freaking out! i had literally 50 med questions and about 25 SATA...lots of priority....help me lol!
  14. there are free questions from the kaplan question trainers on the slideshare website...they are just about as close to nclex questions as youre gonna get
  15. quite a few people fail the first time actually. i think a lot of it is bc you have NO clue what you are about to see and you dont know what to expect. just keep trying...you will get it! im taking it for the third time on thursday...so i feel your pain and it is definately deep. just keep practicing questions...learn how to really answer the questions. maybe at least google kaplan strategies for passing bc it really does help. good luck in your studying
