  1. Congratulations! I had the same result in 2009! Happy beginning of the nursing carrier!!!
  2. I know you pain! I came to CT 2 months ago from NM, where I worker as a med surge RN. All my tries to find a job were unsuccessful... I am going with agency now - just to get my foot in the hospital!!! I only got a call from Bridgeport hospital human resources, I have been told that without a bachelor degree in nursing or BSN---I would never pass even an initial hospital screening... However, for agencies my associate RN just fine! Strange... Well, I am applying for the online RN-to RN-BSN bridge program now. As soon as I actively enrolled and started--- job looking situation should get better for me... For now, I will start my first ever 13 week contract with Millennium agency, at least they don't ask to sigh "non compete" paper and give me a small bonus... Good luck to you!!!
  3. Hello again! I am kinda thinking about Southern New Hampshire Univercity., they don't have clinicals, which is it a "+" for me... ., looks like many nurses in CT choose this program..
  4. Thank you for you questions. I didn't realize that. I need to do more research on the topic...
  5. Thank you very much!!! As I understood correctly, the program need to be acreddited in CCNE or ACEN? One or the other?
  6. Hello everyone!!! I am a foreign educated nurse from Belarus, who was able to get RN license in US in 2009--and VERY proud of it :)!!! I have been practicing nursing since that time and I LOVE IT!!! I really would like to advance my education to RN-BSN. SOO many universities, very confusing....I am completely lost.... I NEED ADVISE!!! Please, tell me what school did you choose and why? I was talking to a nice lady from Villanova University, but the truth is---I never heard of that university before..... Any suggestions would be really appreciated! THANK you!
  7. I am in exactly the same situation... I worked as RN in TX for a year--but we had to move to NY. I heard horror stories that reevaluation of education and endorsement for foreign graduates takes forever--(up to 8 month) And everything need to be done through CGFNS ... again.... It is NOT FUN....
  8. Hi! I am very happy for you!!!! First job is just a bridge which will bring you to you goal job! Moreover, home-health----gives a lot of flexibility! I know couple of people who works in that nursing area---they are very happy with their jobs!!!. I understand why you want to work in ICU---I use to be ICU nurse and it was very difficult but VERY REWORDING job!!! I felt like I really made people's lives better! I am very hopeful that soon I will find a job to! I am not in San Antonio yet--we are moving there in the end of June! Good luck with you new nursing career!!!! I would love to hear from you sometimes!!! Please, write to me!
  9. I came with my family in 2002. I apply to Methodist transplant hospital in San Antonio... I apply A LOT!!! Some hospitals just did not responded at all, others--sent me an automatic rejection letter, Baptist hospital---asked to take "personality GALLOP test" ---and, as I expected:), they didn't like my personality in spite of my "impressive qualities"!:) I guess--I have to wait for my time!
  10. Hi! I understand how do you feel..... I think that eventually you will find you RN spot because you are US graduate. I wish you luck with all my heart!!!!! I am also a nurse who are looking for job... In my case--I am foreign graduate without US experience--it is like death penalty.... I have 4 years of Belarussian RN experience in ICU--but who cares..seems like it is a big disadvantage.. I was shocked yesterday--- the person who promised me an interview at first-- had dumped me only because she had "bad previous experience with foreign nurses..." I felt like she discriminated me because of my foreign origin... It s very disappointing because I worked VERY hard for my RN license and I LOVE my job...
  11. Congrats!!! :)
  12. HI! I also had not very high Kaplan scores. The closer you are to the Nclex--the lower the scores are--it was like that in my case. However, I pass the Nclex with first 75 questions!!! Do not let it to disturb you!! Kaplan was REALLY helpful for me!! Do you questions every day and read the explanations after the test. You WILL PASS!!! Good luck!
  13. I think I am generally against the executions--but in this case it probably the right thing to do......So many SICK people who doesn't deserve to live on the face of the Earth... I think they will be punished enough in the prison....
  14. Hi! I don't know anything about the event you described---however, it sounds just horrible.... God sees everything... If murders weren't punished by justice system--they will face the God's judgment.... Can you please send a link about this event?
  15. Hi everyone!!! I am moving in San Antonio in 3 month. I am foreign educated RN who got TX RN license last year!!! I have had an experience in ICU and pediatrics nursing back in Belarus (5 years). However, I really do not have any in the USA---the only experience I had here in the US is 104 hours in the hospital during my Nursing Refresher course in Oklahoma. Should I look for a job as a fresh graduate? What is the best fit for me to start my nursing? Any suggestions please!!!!
  16. Yes. I was working back then in Chicago as PCT. Nurse called security after the pt refused to be discharged, they came and took the patient in the wheelchair to the lobby. I guess they called taxi. Is all I know. Hope this will help.
  17. I am also foreign educated nurse. Looking back--I would suggest you to avoid dealing with CGFNS--it take long time, $$$ and you don't really need it. Some states do their own evaluation of you credentials and as soon as this part is done--they will grand you permission to take NCLEX. I passed CGFNS from my 2nd try, however I know many people who are still trying to pass. For some--it take years. Everyone decides what is best in certain circumstances--it is your choice. I wish you the best!!!
  18. Hi! I believe that if you decide to move to an other state--you just need to endorse you license. It is usually simple procedure. Since you are an American graduate ---I don't think you will have any trouble with endorsement! Good luck!!!
  19. Hi everyone!!! I got my TX license today!!! Now I can drive from OK and work as RN in TX!!! My dream came true!!! Thanks to all for support!
  20. Hi! It seems to me that YOU ARE VERY PREPARED!!!! The time you spent for preparation will reward you!!! I wish you best !!! Use you knowledge and nursing judgment to answer the questions and try to get a good sleep before the exam day!!!:wink2:
  21. I wish I could explain it fast and easy. However, each state has different requirements. You have to pay, wait, pay and wait. It took me forever to get my permission for NCLEX. I am glad that NC bon granted me with such a permission because I met their requirements. Because of my speaking (OK thing) ---I canon endorse my NC license and work in OK.I am eligible for TX--but they need my license verification --sent directly from my nursing school again. CGFNS has everything--but it too old for TX bon.
  22. I talked to TX bon representative today---they would accept my CP ONLY if it was less that 1 year since I got it. Well it is more than 1 year now. I guess--my nursing school in Belarus have to send some documents again...
  23. Hi! I am glad to hear from you!!! I REALLY NEED TO TALK TO YOU!!! It is about getting license in TX. I called TX bon today and I need to clarify some things. I don't now anyone from TX who went thought similar experience. I can not write to you private massages yet on this website. PLEASE --I will be VERY thankful to you!!!
