Yes, I heard the same thing directly from the no worker left behind office.

question for the guys
I don't think it would bother me at all. I would rather have multiple partners in fact allowing me to have different experiences.
-
Hey guys....How do you all support yourselves?
I have to give credit to my supportive wife as she is the bread winner while I retool my career. I don't know how I could do it without her support.

Men In Nursing
Great post, I can totally relate.

what shoes do you wear...
I am wearing Rockport shoes and find them to be very comfortable. I would think I may try the Nike Shox everyone seems to love here. Thanks for the info guys.

Pre-Requisite Challenging Classes
1. Pharmacology 2. Physiology Lecture 3. Physiology Lab 4. Microbiology 5. Anatomy Lecture 6. Anatomy Lab I put them in this order because I found the memorization to be more intense in pharm and patho.

How many of you plan on going beyond BSN?
I hope to continue on to a CRNA or NP. I truly would like to do the CRNA, however, I do realize it is very competitive so I will cross that bridge when I get to it. I entering an accelerated BSN program this fall so I will have a bit of a road ahead of me first.

I think that I may be the oldest male nursing student when I enter this fall
The drive you have is impressive! I think it is great that you are going to achieve a dream that you have carried for so long. Best of luck to you on your journey.

Would You Prefer a Male Nurse?
I would have no preference, although I have not needed a nurse to this point so my opinion could be different if the situation arose for me. As long as the nurse is competent and courteous I would be happy. Also I hope that most people will feel the same way when I am their nurse.

University of Michigan (UofM) Accelerated program
I would also like to mention that the Michigan program is not interested in working with the states no worker left behind program which will grant $5000 toward the tuition of many other accelerated programs. Oakland U. is participating which makes tuition much more palatable.

About parking in AA, where is the orange lot and is walking from the orange lot to the school or hospital a viable option? Would I have to get there an hour or more early to walk the distance? I would rather walk than take the bus if it is 2 miles or less.

University of Michigan (UofM) Accelerated program
Also I did not see it mentioned here, but, the Oakland program is trying to get people in within 2 cohorts. If you apply (and have all requirements done) and do not get accepted into the cohort you are moved to the front of the line for the next cohort. This is a much less competitive environment than many other schools. I was admitted there as well as U of M and chose U of M.

I was accepted to U of M in Jan. and have issued my check for $200. They have since sent me the information for the reception and I am scheduled for March 25th.
