Hey, doing what you have to do to provide for you and your son is your first priority, this is the best field but you know that, he will see your determination, and drive for his and your future, I drove two hours one day a week to my bridge program for a year, I did have help, but I went through 2 babysitters, and had to leave at 4 am to get to clinical by 6:30. My advice look at ALl, The reviews the bad first and see how he feels when he walks in, is he comfortable, also look online at the Quality Rated Program go visit with them I only looked for home care because I didn't want my 2 year old, former micro preemie around a lot of kids and he could get that one on one care at an in home facility. Also ask around, someone at your church, an old grandmother, that could spoil him at your church, if you attend, but ask and tell them why you need it, when I shared my drive, and people saw my determination I received a lot of support. Congratulations, you got this, and remember if you don't like it, it's ok to change him, your loyalty is him not the person you pay, but change once you find somewhere else. My son loves his homecare lady now, she's great and attentive. And I'm in Atlanta if you are here.

That's very high I just Finshed LPN school here in GA and received a Hope Grant I did not pay anything for my LPN. I have 30K from my BS in Biology. I choose to do LPN first so I would not get any more Loans now I plan to work somewhere where there is tuition re-emburstment. Try that first because that is a lot of money for just an LPN and RN degree. Also look for service cancelable loans for nursing students.

Never change your answer what comes to you first is usualy what you remember from your studies and no C's get degrees just like B's. I have a friend that failed her test because she changed her answers she got a 67 and could have gotten an 84. So please DO NOT CHANGE YOUR ANSWERS!!! You also want to go over the test a 2nd time to make sure you answered all the questions. I have known people who have missed a few just because they did not answer the question. Make sure you understand the content and can apply i can't tell you how many times my teacher told the class that. I read first and go back and read again and take notes on index cards so when I'm waiting any where I go over my index cards. But you will be ok just keep trying...

I am in GA and there is a wait list here as well as in FL. However 6yrs is toooo long 2 just receive an ADN... I just finished my LPN and am looking for a school to attened for the RN but don't plan to go any longer than 2yrs so think long and hard because nursing school is very hard try finding a school that will take most of the credits you allready have.

Stay focused i am a single parent work part time and have an A-B average...and I'm almost finished if this is your calling the learing will be great but it may be difficult at times but you can get through

Yes always read ahead but be careful about buying the books more than 6months ahead because I purchased some books 3months before the class and the book was changed when I begain the class:(

I am currently in school for my LPN and have heard that for years as well however here in GA only a few hospitals do not hire LPN's and the rest do. However I choose this route because all the grants I received that only paid for a Technical College Degree, and I didn't want anymore student loans. I do plan to go back for my RN after I have worked in a hospital and receive their tuition reimbursment. Just do whatever works for you.

I have mixed emotions I had to sit out a quater after failing a test and dealing with the instructors returning to school this July has just given me a bitter taste I have no respect for them and like you say the way they weed people out I have been an A B student through out the program and my mother was in an MVC totaling her car and fracturing her sternum I truly think God was sitting me down to take care of her I had to take an incomplete in MED SURG II and was rushed by the dean to return to finish my incomplete. Even before all of this it has been such a stressful year and the truly sad part it's the instructors that make nursing school so stressful!!! The work is not difficult at all if your taught properly or even take that extra step to self-teach...But the instuctors make it difficult... I have gone back and forth with my pinning once I return and finish this July - Sept 09 but onestly at the end of the day who am I hurting me or them!!!
