Look up as many policies as you can! Your concerns are valid, and at the end of the day you have to protect your license and your preceptor has to protect hers--if she thinks you are posing a threat to her license I have no doubt she will not only throw you under the bus..she will probably be the one driving it. I work in a pediatric facility and their is pretty much a policy for everything, don't be afraid to do the research. I know you said the hospital you are at is the closest one to you, is moving an option for a better market? I would desperately try to not get fired, however, if it happens it won't be the end of the world.

1st semester clinicals are on Wednesday. You are either in FtW or Weatherford or Mineral Wells, it's from 630a-1230....you sign up at the beginning of semester for your clinical site, it stays the same the whole semester, 2nd semester is obgyn and med-surg so the ob is at baylor all saints and i'm not sure about the med-surg....you will know at the beginning of the semester which day and site you will be at. i don't remember where to find it but on weatherfords website they have common schedules posted in regards to the adn program

i think that everyone's personal experience is subjective..i am married w/two children and have NO intentions of getting a divorce because of school ((my family is the reason i'm finishing school!!!)) i'm very excited to finish school and other's negative experience isn't going to slow me down! make the best of a situation and it'll all be over w/so quick!

here's some info from an email from kl- every year is different on points to the vocational nursing program. this past year it took 9 points to be selected and we got down to alternates with 6 points. the year before that, it took 9 points and we got down to 7 points for alternates. however, three years ago it took 6 points and we got down to alternates with 3 points. four years ago it was 11 points and alternates with 8 points. five years ago, it was 6 points again. so you can see that every year is different.

wow!--i am totally kicking myself for not applying to TCC!!!! I'm on alternate list for WC. i think i could've gotten in..A-AP1 B-AP2,CHEM,MICRO TEAS 81.2% overall (Reading-90%, Math-93.3%, Science-63.3%, English-80%) bummer!--CONGRATS to you guys!!!

What has everyone turned in so far? The letter says just the acceptance/declination form, FAST, and HepB but the blue sheet gives dates for the other paperwork.

I have a good friend that went through TCC's program and has never had a negative thing to say about it. He encouraged me to apply to TCC over Weatherford b/c he said TCC has a better reputation at the hospitals than Weatherford. However, if someone feels like they are not being given a fair opportunity b/c they are being discriminated against, then that person has to stand up for themselves and tell the appropriate people so things can change for the better. Nothing will get resolved by merely posting on this website. JMHO

Hey, I applied to LVN at weatherford too, don't know when letters go out though. I'm an alternate for the ADN program so hopefully I'll get a call up to fill a spot but if not I will be doing the LVN w/you!

ALTERNATES!--I talked to KL today, she said last year they had 20alt's and went through the list. THIS year they have 30, so hopefully we will ALL get a call to fill a spot!

so i'm probably happier than i should be but i got my letter as an accepted alternate! this is as close as i've ever come to being accepted into the nursing program and as of this moment i am over the moon! i'll see you guys at orientation AND hopefully in classes!

I called and KL said letters would "most-likely" go out Fri Apr 2 ((i didn't ask how points were looking))

DO IT! lol i bet they have to know how the score's are at least looking, even if they are going to wait a few more weeks to send out letters.
