Does it get easier????!!!
I just recently got hired at a near by hospital from where I live. I have been orienting for almost a month now and I find nursing to be VERY overwhelming. There are so many procedures to learn, so many protocols to know, knowing what to do with high and low lab results, and the lists goes on and on...I feel like I have no idea how to prioritized myself and that I am always behind on charting. I feel like I am not learning quick enough to be on my own. Granted, I have until December but I am scared I won't be able to go on my own. I am not saying I want to quit but I am asking for those of you that have been through orientation months, how was it for you guys? What did you do to make things easier? Does it get more simple as time passes? PLEASE HELP! Thanks!

How I PASSED NCLEX second time!
Hi everyone, I am now officially a registered nurse! After taking the exam the first time and failed, I decided I cannot make this mistake again. When I found out my result, after my first nclex, I decided I needed a break off of studying and destressed myself. After a week of break, I went to the book store and tried to find nclex books that would help (now that I know nclex style questions). Below are the books and tools I find useful. Hope these books and tools will help you as well. Good luck!! * Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment: Practice Exercises for Medical-Surgical Nursing by Linda LaCharity PhD RN, Candice K. Kumagai RN MSN, and Barbara Bartz RN MN CCRN (Paperback - Dec 5, 2005) ( Remember to read the rationales and know the content of each question). *Strategies for Alternate Item Formats on the NCLEX-RN® Exam by Linda Anne Silvestri MSN RN and Yazmin Mojica MSN/MPH MA RN CNS (Paperback - Feb 23, 2007) (This book helped me a lot! Make sure to read the rationales). *I aso used "random facts throwing," from this (Allnurses) website." You can find this under Nclex discussion forum. I read from page 1 to the last page. Make sure you ultized this forum and take good notes, for that the information is very very useful for nclex!

Failed NCLEX-RN 1st Attempt
I can honestly say, I know how you are feeling. I fail NCLEX the first time as well, and was beginning to doubt myself. What I did was, I took a week off of studying and regather my thoughts. I took NCLEX a month later and PASSED on my second try. I myself, am not a fluent English speaker. Believed in yourself. I know you can do it! BTW your english is great!

Just got my "Authorization to Test" email...
Honestly, I would take at least a month worth of studying before taking the test. I made the mistake of taking it early so that I can get it over with, and thinking because I have many tries, I ended up failing the first time. With the second try, I waited and took a whole month to study and passed! good luck!

Pearsonvue Trick Is this TRUE? Does it work every time?
GUYS!!! It worked!!! It really does work!!! Pearson would not let me register again and so today (3 days later), I went on the Cali. Board of Registered Nursing and my name was there!!!! I am so relieved!!! Thanks to all for the encouragement. BTW...The whatever color screen you have towards the end does not matter. Good luck to all!!!!

"GRAY SCREEN," does it mean you have failed????
There was a thread that mentioned about the gray screen, and every failed exam, the computer would turn gray on her/him. Until the one time when her screen turned blue, and it turns out that she passed..Maybe you passed and your computer was gray?

"GRAY SCREEN," does it mean you have failed????
I took my second NCLEX today and it was horrible. So many medications, prioritizations and SATAs. I had about 215 questions (somewhere around there, I don't quite remember...too anxious to remember). Anyway, when the computer stopped, it turned 'GRAY." I heard that if it turns gray, that means you have "FAILED." Can anyone comfirm this??? I am pretty scared right now. I don't want to take again!!!

Helpless and Alone
I think it is normal the way you are feeling, for that I am feeling the same way. I haven't passed nclex yet either, and sometimes feel really embarassed around my family and friends also but the way I see it is that, maybe its not my time to be an RN "yet" and that I need to just wait a bit longer. I am studying really hard for the next one and if for some reason I don't passed, I am just going to dig my head in a hole . Look at it this way, you are not the only one. So keep your head up and stay focus! Good luck!!

April 2009 Nclex takers...come on in...share ur thoughts
I too fall into this category. I failed nclex back in early March at 265 questions, and is rescheduled to take it again the end of the month. I am pretty freaked out because I know the chances are still 50/50. Its pretty sad that today I had to call the bank to get a deferment on my loans. Too bad we don't have a live study group going on. Well, back to studying and good luck to everyone!

Failed at 265
Shawn, what were your strategies this time around? How many questions did you get and did you get a lot of SATA's? I started studying but still confused of where to start =(

Failed at 265
Today I started to regroup and started studying again. Thanks to everyone for your encouragements. You guys make me feel confident that I too, can passed =)! Notebook1985, I think this time around, I am not going to let anyone know when I am taking it either. Just adds to the stress. Good luck to you and the rest of us that still needs to passed!

Failed at 265
I feel really bummed out. I found out that I did not passed the nclex-rn three weeks after taking the exam. It took me a little over hours to finished the 265 questions. The worst part is that I got a job offer but had to give it up because I did not passed. On top of it all, I don't know of anyone that graduated with me that has not passed their nclex. I feel left out and so stupid . Some encouragements please...

Really? It really does not matter if you answered the last question right or wrong??? My Kaplan instructor says it does. I'm all confused!!! So, what is it, does it or does it not matter????
