  1. Reading all of this makes me very happy I chose an inpatient Oncology unit...GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU ER NURSES!!! I'm so thankful you are there for the ones that really need you.

When I was 16 I had a few spots on my back...thought they were spider bites. It wasn't until I had my 2nd child that the anesthesiologist said, "Have you had shingles before? I see the scars here" and ran his finger along the same spot. Every once in a while I'll start to feel the tingle, but haven't had another breakout.
  3. What does the "sugar" mean?!
  4. Thank you SO MUCH for this post....I had a really tough shift this evening, and I needed a reminder to look past the tough parts of this profession for a minute and see the lighter side. THANK YOU ALL!!! (92 year old little lady needed another gown and a blanket to cover up her "pocketbook" before she got on the stretcher to go to x-ray!)
  5. Amen to that, Mario...YOU GO BOY!
  6. HELP! I'm having a hard time with breakfast. I can't eat first thing in the morning-I usually work 7-3. If I wait until after I get to work, I usually end up very busy and don't have time to stop until lunch. By then I am starving! I have noticed a big difference on those days I can take a break in the morning and eat. Am I strange?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  7. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe most of the people posting to this thread LOVE their jobs and are GOOD at them....that's the point. I haven't read any "pissing and moaning" about how horrible their jobs are. I've read concerns about how the profession is being portrayed to the public on TV. Be fair.
  8. Karen, I am an Oncology Nurse...I pray for my patients and their loved ones daily. I will be sure to keep both your friend and you in my thoughts. God bless you for being such a caring individual!
  9. gloves gloves gloves gloves gloves!
  10. YOU GO NURSEPRU....well said!!!!
  11. Many of my chemo pts. can't tolerate even the most pleasant of smells-which (as you can imagine) presents quite a delimma at times. Watch those aromatherapy candles with the O2!!
  12. YES YES YES I was called...no doubt....and I answered. It's easy to go to work each day with a smile on my face, knowing where this blessed gift has come from.
  13. If there is such a vast difference between the 2 degrees, why do we take the SAME EXACT licensing exam????
  14. Last time I checked, it said "NCLEX-RN" not "NCLEX-ADN" or "NCLEX-BSN".....same exact licensing exam. Am I wrong?
