  1. anyone can get in there it's all about the $$$ these schools need to make business they will find a way to get you in and take your money I went the community college route took more time but I wasn't in debt.
  2. Did you ever go back and get your GED to get into the nursing school?
  3. I work in the alzheimers unit best residents I'm a part of their lives and wouldn't have it any other way they make me laugh and sometimes even cry that's life right were all humans.
  4. This is going to be a challenge self teaching cause the nclex pn is more than just bedside care ?? It's maternal, psychological, pharmacology, surgical phew.. I bought out amazon's nursing book section.
  5. Are there any LVN s who did method#3 and took the nclexpn and passed tell me what you studied to pass thanks.
  6. Yea I would guess that studying for the nclex pn would be harder cause you don't have a teacher their telling you what to study for, I'm studying too ughh.
  7. Yes lvn is better than cna you need to pass your boards and be a RN not a cna or lvn !
  8. Wow that is not good working so hard to achieve to be an RN then feel like you can't pass up and be a lvn hell no take that test again study hard!
  9. It takes awhile to get hired at those hospitals my friend waited a year till she got hired at Scripps chula vista she said her job interview was something else your placed in front of a panel of 10 people who ask you all sorts of questions
  10. Oh I've seen a lot of that in long term care people show up that you've never seen before
  11. Omg now I'll have to pay $9.00 for a whopper lol crazy
  12. Yeah you should ask family first
  13. Stay in california why move anywhere else
  14. Cause you just pass medicine as a lvn it doesn't take a genius to do that a rn on the other hand is more extensive, a lvn is like a middle man between cna and rn, that's what california thinks too so they offer the challenge cna's learn all that paid experience on the job for 51 months so why not take the pharmacology class and do it and then the n c l e x good luck it's just a lot of people are hating cause they took the long expensive route and then heard about this in california
  15. Everyone gets nervous about the TEST.but that's normal. That's why we have clinicals to practice.I was in my clinical the other day and one of the CNA's told us that once we are done with this program, and get out in the real world of CNA we will take alot of shortcuts to be able to get 10 residents up and dressed for breakfast by 7 and everyone wants you at the same time. The teacher told us just to do everything by the book that will be on the state test.
  16. These are my classes I signed up for but I have not registered for yet english composition, sociology101,college sucess skills, and psyhology101 debating if I can do this at 37years old!had to take 12 units in order to recieve full pell grant award I got a real low score in my math placement test that's what really worries me cause I need to have a good math foundation in nursing and in chemistry.I hate math.that's why I put it off until summer or fall.I still pinching myself it took me 15 years to do this cause I had my kids first three girls 15,9,6 years.oldest is a cheerleader in high school.
  17. So like I took the assement test today too I did'nt do so good in math I have to take a class in math! Im 37yrs, and have not been in a class in like over 19 years is that okay or am I really not cut out for this cause you have to really be good in math and dosage calculations to be a nurse.
  18. The hospital smells like sick death anyways so a little good smell on nurses is fine.
  19. Does anyone know if city college has a lvn program, cause I know southwestern does?
  20. Does the nursing program provide all that stuff, like scrubs and stethoscope.I know we have to provide our own shoes.just curious.
  21. Everytime your on any waiting list and they ask you if you are still interested,it's because their going to put you in class really soon!!! Good Luck.By the way anyone here going to San Diego City college ?I'm going even though there are so many general education courses to take.I think that's why we have such a major nursing shortage because we have to wait and wait and wait so long on the waiting list and so many courses to take. But oh how sweet it is when we pass the NXLEN test and start working and getting all that $$$$$$$$$$$.San Diego hospitals pay well.
