  1. Hi there, it depends. I am staying in PA and first time when i failed it took almost 3 weeks to get my result by mail and in the second time i passed and my name was there in the BRN website on the 3rd day of my exam.

hi everybody, am a new RN,had my education from india now looking for jobs .I heard that once u start your carreer in some LTC facility its rather difficult to get hired in hospitals,is that true, since i dont have any experience its very difficult to get into a hospital.Any advice..... how much do they pay in LTC ,philadelphia area. Thanks
  3. hi guys, very sad to hear about all these,am foreign educated recently passed the rn exam, living in phila,i guess if u guys dont get a job, defenitely me neither.Took exams from CA board just applied to PA board for license and temporary permit.Anyway good luck to everybody.
  4. hey thanks ladysniper and jobimol, good luck for u ladysniper, i think the exam is not that difficult. IMO do the first 15 questions carefully then u will have more chances of passing, its just what i think.I had lot of pharmacology, newborn reflexex questions, 10 sata ,disaster triage questions, just concentrate on GI, endocrine, respiratory and cardiac system and drugs from these chapters. good luck. concentrate on each question, just dont think of anything else, take your break,do some breathing exercise to relax urself.just wishing u both good luck.
  5. During exam read each and every question carefully and all the answers,If u are doing good answers are not that easy to pick quickly,so just concentrate on each question, just relax loosen ur muscles and stay focussed. Also i felt you must really have to do well in the first 15 questions.good luck
  6. hey melinurse i passed, i remember ur support before exam and thanks,hi hi .........am an RN....
  7. hi i took exam recently and i pass, i also got lots and lots of pharm question but every drug was familier and it was there in the saunders review book.Best advice not to guess too much randomly. good luck.
  8. thanks everybody. umm for prepration i had saunders review 3rd edition text and lippincott Q&A 9th edition, did some questions from saunders cd,thats it.. Just concentrate, be through with ur review book, i suggest properly read saunders review book, latest is 4th edition.I didnt done any other review course.
  9. hey i got around 10 SATA questions, lots and lots of pharmacology, i think around 30% was pharmacology related, and most of them where prioritization type, didnt got any math questions.Actually i thought i might fail because i made some simple questions wrong like one pediatric reflex question two or three pharm questions, the rest were all priritization and i didnt remember anything.I also took 75 questions and took lot of time for that, i took around 3 hrs for it eventhough thats not a good strategy. Dont worry you guys will make through it.If i can do it defenitely u guys can because am foreign educated, never had seen such question in student period.good luck.
  10. thanks silverdragon, thanks to all staff of allnurses website because this is really a wonderful site, this really supported me during my initial failure, when i see am not alone that gave some sort of confidence and to try hard to face the challenge. anyway i made it, thanks to god. katzenjammer dont worry ussually it takes 3-10 days to see the results, wil pray for u,good luck:):)
  11. Hi everybody,i made it, i passed the rn on my second try. i took the nclex rn on 6th from california board and today i saw my name on the brn website. Thanks everybody who supported me and the random fact throwing was really helpful. :yeah:
  12. thanks lady sniper, that story is really inspiring for me; i think u r also taking exams on january, wish u good luck too.:nuke::nuke: take care...........:):)
  13. Hi calioter thanks for your advice, but i think even if i extend the date, i will be in same mood so better to finish the exam.I think the NCLEX is all about the critical thinking and the mindset during those few hours.
  14. Hi everybody, am going to take my nclex on 6th and i really dont know what to do.I am really worried about the pharmacology part,am not remembering and going lot wrong when i practice. What should i do for the next 7 days, do i have to do more questions or just review the saunders once again like just turning pages. What else should i do.I dont feel any anxiety or fear,is that mean i am overconfident or not done my practice properly. am not sure wat to do. Plz any suggestions.

  16. i am foreign educated from india, completed my course and preparing for nclex rn.Nursing has got lot of job security, lots of oppurtunities as well as there are different types of higher education programmes.so it has got lots to offer, well it certainly offers a decent salary too.you know in my class in india out of 45 ,22 of them where boys. wish u all the best for all male nurses.
  17. hi everybody, i am having Saunders comprehensive review 3rd edition , i would like to do the sazannes plan for nclex rn examination. i know she recommends the fourth edition but whether its really needed. i also have the lippincott Q&A review 9th edition which covers all new format questions. will i be able to participate in her plan with the third edition, please advice, thank you for spending your time, everybody take care.
  18. hey i too can feel your pain of failing nclex exam because am also in your same situation with my family's hope around me. but one day or another we have to make it,right.so my best advice is just start slowly, start revising, feel confident that u are gonna make it, take proper food, get some relaxation, think about ur future once u pass exam, gain your inborn strength, and start studying. for revision may be u can use saunders fourth edition and try to do as much questions, try to do alternate format questions like SATA, concentrate on ur pharmacology and infection control, prioritization. hey dont worry, almost all of the nurses have some stories like this,so control ur mind and do it, wish u all the best.
  19. is this thing real;am going to write the exam for my second time, may be because those who take second time are psychologically upset and that shows up in exam;..............those who take second time we dont believe in this, right!
  20. hi there, am foreign educated nurse and am in PA. if u hav nursing education outside u can apply to the department of education, they wil provide temporary permit and later u can apply to redcross and can take the exam, without going through a cna course
