Im confused, you start orientation there next month? So they are no longer hiring?

Looking for information myself, are they currently hiring?

Thank You, yeah the pay sucks but I'll try because something is better than nothing at all....

I graduated with my ADN a little over a year ago and have yet to find a job. I live in the nyc area and I know its saturated with nurses but i am surprised that i have not even gotten a call back from a snf. I expected it to be hard to find a job in this area but over a year is a bit too much for me to handle. If anyone can point me in the direction of anyone hiring non experienced nurses please post.....all i want is to be a working nurse whether its through a agency, in a snf or acute care setting........ please help!!!! i too tested on 10/5 samething happened to me u have to contact pearson vue

I took my exam on 10/5 and got the good pop up, on 10/6 got hold results because the center forgot to fingerprint me, on 10/7 fingerprinted, on 10/9 refingerprinted and rephotographed, on 10/12 fingerprint and photograph resubmitted because of error...10/13 pearsonvue site still states exam results not available although my name is posted on the state board of nuring as a licensed nurse... do the trick and wait to see your name on the BON website dont waste your money on quick results

same exact thing happened to , i also tested 10/5...did u really have to wait an additional 48hrs? it lso happened to friend of mine who also tested that same day

When i attended the program u had to have a 85 or above in ALL classes, in addition to that you have to not be on or ever been on any kind of probation including for attendance and you have to over all in good standing becaue you are being recommended..

I look foward to passing the NCLEX this October, I am using Saunders, La Charity, Exam Cram I also have ATI but am not using it. Best of luck to all of us.

Well i would seriously meet with the chair person because she does different things for different people depending on individual circumstances, currently ive been accepted to Helene fuld College of Nursing and im in the process of applying to BCC's program. BCC is my first choice but i too have heard terrible things about both programs. As for the setting i kind of like it but ofcourse im from the bronx and its in walking distance from my home lol

I think if you have the grades that its not really a problem to get into the program, that is they take those with the highest overall GPA and work their way down. but i would strongly suggest that you have a meeting with the chair of the department because there are lots of placement exams and test you have to take before being accepted into the program, for example in addition to passing the pax rn you have to take a math placement exam and score a certain level or take a remedial course to be admitted into their pharmacology course , not to mention you have to apply with the nursing department in order to be considered for this course in the first place and like i stated before they take the top 25 with the highest overall gpa. Same goes for Chemistry if you have not taken it already. Anyway its worth having a meeting with the chair and hearing what they have to say because although its a junior college i believe their nursing program ranked 5 in the country beating out alot of other senior colleges.

To tell you the truth I have not been looking, focusing on the nclex and starting RN school this month

Congrads LPN class of 2009/10. I am a graduate of the Mid-Manhattan LPN program. Good luck ,say on top of your game and learn as much as you can. A quick piece of advice if you were told to fax something back do it as soon as possible, if you were told to report somewhere before a deadline do so as soon as possible, this program is a good one even though you probably wont think so until you graduate it is NOTORIOUSLY unorganized.

Doing fairly well over here , Graduating come June, cant wait for school to be finished...

Good Luck guys to all you DOE prospects, i am currently participating in the program at the manhattan scool. All i can say is be prepared to study hard and to study non stop until your ready to take your boards. By the way i am suprised that no one got their verbal acceptance yet anyway good louck future nurses of America!
