USF Fall 2015 Applicants
Congrats! Have you all completed all of the paperwork for admission? Background check, health docs, residency dec., quizzes, etc? I haven't yet ordered the background check, but I was able to register for classes without a hold. Anyone know when this needs to be completed by? Does anyone have more information on all of the paper work?

USF Fall 2015 Applicants
I found out I was accepted! I think now seats will open up if anyone who is accepted declines. I think the cutoff date for everyone who is already accepted is July 31, so some people may still hear in the first week or Aug! Good luck everyone!

USF Fall 2015 Applicants
coopsy, I still haven't heard anything either. I had my interview 2 weeks ago now. I did receive notification in SOAR that I should hear "no later than the end of May," but they also said 4-6 weeks back in March, and never followed through. This is so frustrating! I hope they don't push this till June or July - I am a nervous wreck!

USF Fall 2015 Applicants
Thanks for the info JennaeDRN! I wonder if there are also some classes offered online. Is your friend in the FNP track? To all who applied to the FNP track, I hear it is VERY competitive so that might be why it is taking longer to hear back. I'm not sure if everyone has to interview or if some applicants just get accepted/denied. Does anyone know anything about the interview process? Best of luck to all!

USF Fall 2015 Applicants
VickyCS 2001 was your application missing any of the items? I don't think it should still say "applied" in SOAR. It should have gone to the committee by now. I would call to double check that all of your documents were received.

USF Fall 2015 Applicants
Thanks VickyCS 2001. I just found out I got an interview! Regardless, it will be after the deadline of the other program I was accepted into, but I am still going to go for it with USF since it is my top choice. Has anyone else gotten an interview or better yet, been through an interview with USF? Any feedback would be appreciated, as I am now a nervous wreck!

USF Fall 2015 Applicants
Still no word here either. This is frustrating because this program is my top choice, however I was accepted into another program and need to let them know of my final decision by 5/1! I have communicated via the discussion on SOAR a few weeks back, but no reply. At this point, I am assuming I am just waiting on a rejection though.

USF Nursing requiremnets
Hi lenaanthony! I am in the same boat as you, but for the graduate program! I hear it is pretty competitve so I agree with Cruz.Cookie - don't put all your eggs in one basket! I also applied (and was accepted) to the University of Tampa's program, so that is my back up if all else fails! Just the class times are not practical for someone who works full-time. Best of luck to you!

USF Fall 2015 Applicants
Has anyone applied to the USF (University of South Florida) Fall 2015 NP track? I applied for Adult-Gero and haven't heard back yet. My SOAR account says "committee." Just trying to connect with some other USF hopefuls out there! On a side note, has anyone attended this program and how did you feel about it? Are most of the classes offered after 4-5 pm? Are a lot of classes online? Any input would be appreciated!

Starting at Morgan Stanley Childrens - where to live?!?!
Hello all, I am starting at Morgan Stanley Childrens hospital next month. I heard it's not in a very safe area, and I wanted to live in manhattan. Is this a do-able commute? If so, what neighborhood is the best to live in order to catch the A train? Please let me know if you have any advice! thanks!

Normal to feel so stupid?
I work in a PICU at a level 1 trauma center. I have been there for about 9 months now, and prior to that I was on med/surg for a year and some months. I feel like an idiot most days in the PICU. I am nervous EVERY time I do any kind of procedures (dsg changes, suctioning, bagging, admissions etc). I feel like people around me are thinking I must be stupid. Is this still normal after THIS long?

I dont want to do this anymore!!!
Hi control, I am also interested in eventually leaving bedside nursing and go to a non-clinical area. what is it that you do? I tried to PM you, but I can't. let me know! thanks =)

Can't find a job
Thank you for your input and your advice! It is very helpful.

Can't find a job
Thank you all for your advice/words of encouragement. I left the position for a few reasons aside from the fact that I didn't like the job. 1) i got a volunteer opportunity in India (which i thought would help my job search upon my return), and 2) I have relocated to California. Yes, I still have a very good relationship with my old job, and could return to work there, but It is in Connecticut and I would have to move in with my parents. I guess if worst comes to worst, I can always do that. BUT what I am really hoping for is to get trained on a pediatric ICU/NICU or any other type of critical care pediatrics unit. I am willing to do as much as I need to in order to get the training to be this kind of nurse. I am wondering if I can suggest to HR that I am willing to go through the full orientation without pay. Please let me know if that sounds crazy.

Can't find a job
That is a great idea. Do you think I can talk to HR and suggest they not pay me or even pay me a nurse aide salary for the time I am being oriented/trained to the unit? At this point, I would just like to start getting some pediatrics experience and can afford to get oriented without pay. Please let me know if that sounds ridiculous, or If i should suggest it

Can't find a job
I am looking for a pediatrics position and cannot seem to find one. I am an RN with a BSN, graduated May 2008. I have a little over 1 year of experience on a pediatrics and adult med/surg floor. I recently quit the job because it was med/surg more than pediatrics, and has transitioned into an all med/surg floor now. I was told after graduation to get experience on a med/surg unit for at least a year, and then apply to speciality floors, but now when I apply I am either told that I do not have enough experience, or I get a phone interview and then am told the same thing. I have been applying to all sorts of units (even though I don't want to) and continue to get rejected. New grad programs will not accept me bc I have "too much experience" and other positions tell me that I do not have enough experience. I am starting to lose hope and do not know what to do. Please help =(

What is Talent Plus or Top Talent?
Does Talent Plus ask behavioral questions about previous nursing experience? Or is it more along the lines of "Are you a clean person?" I have an interview coming up, but I have no idea how to prepare for it! Please help!

hey CT PIXIE, I am 5 ft and 95 lbs and have the same issue with scrubs. I see that you are from Connecticut. Any chance you live around the Danbury area? If so, which is the store that you buy the Izzy brand and get them hemmed for free? Please let me know! Thanks!
