Why it's impossible to get E3 status?
immunocat, I would be interested in private messaging you - this format has changed on here. Can you do that?

Why it's impossible to get E3 status?
Just another addition- yes the best way to go with a potential employer is to explain that the E-3 visa for Australian only is that it is very similar to the TN visa (Canadians & Mexicans) - the real difference is the TN visa allows you stay for 3-years and the E-3 visa allows you stay in increments of 2-years indefinitely if the need arises. Just have patience, persistence and resilience!

Why it's impossible to get E3 status?
As Australian Nurse I did work in the USA under E-3 visa pre-Covid for 5 years (2014-2019). I did find that I had to go to the USA under ESTA to apply for jobs and explain how the E-3 visa worked. It did take time to explain it! You don't need a lawyer to do an E-3 its very easy but as you have mentioned Melissa Q in your post - its almost that potential employers have a closed mind as it falls in the too hard basket. But it is the best visa in the world cost effective for everyone - it's a win, win visa! I agree with Just Beachy Nurse, I feel their has been a misunderstanding towards your conversations Melissa Q with potential employers - your right about the E-3 visa nobody understands it - and I think that potential employers have confused the E-3 visa for Australians only with the EB-3 - that's why you have to hold their hands and walk them through the process. It can be done - I am proof of it.

Anyone worked at EK health?
Dear Lcmills, How did your interview go? I unfortunately cannot help you. But I was a CM for a large health insurance company in Florida some years ago. I had a case load between 50 - 70. Hope that helps. Let me know what you found out, interested. Hope all is going well? Brissygal

Heparin drip disaster
Neuronurse 88 - you did a magnificent job under difficult circumstances. You have received very good advice from those who have responded to this post. The only comment I would like to make is, next time alert the Team Leader or in charge RN of your difficulties early in the shift. But don't beat yourself up. You're a fine nurse - and the proof is the steps you took to do the job. Nursing is 24 hours - you did everything in your power to get the job done - the concern I have is with the oncoming nurse for that shift - I don't believe she fulfilled her nursing job for that shift.

Feeling Lost
Set your course. Believe in yourself and have a leap of faith! What is the worst that can happen.........it might not be what your looking for....but it might be the best step you have ever taken! Just remember to Breathe......it will be fine....we all continue to grow in our nursing profession, faced with obstacles and challenges along the way. Work will always be busy and demanding and have you pulling your hair out...but working alongside other like minded professionals and serving the patients we have been trained to care for - makes it all worthwhile (its the people you meet that makes our jobs purposeful)!

Help! I can't stop looking at new RN openings and wanting to jump ship
Hi there Googlenurse, ASN, BSN, RN, You sound like you have itchy feet - can't stand still long enough LOL. You sound like me! Your a seasoned nurse with many years under your belt. Don't be lured about the $$$ -and jumping ship trying to find the pot of gold. Find a job that suits you and be content. But I do think you might be better suited to traveling nursing for now - to go after the big bucks if that is what you want and looking around to the type of nursing speciality you are looking for while not committing yourself long term. Happy Days Brissygal.

Feeling Lost
Hi there, I think you have reached the answer that you were looking for, just by writing it out. It sounds like moving to ER might be the direction you want to take at this time. Go For IT! Life is about living. You might find your direction changes again, that is okay. You won't know if you don't make the move. Be happy in what you do....it a learning curve. Just remember....we all have good days and bad days in nursing - it happens to the best of us. Find your feet and settle and you may find you fit into the groove. You can just say to your manager, I just don't feel ICU is a good fit for me....she will understand. You need to be Happy! Lets know how it goes? Brissygal

Orientation Not Going Well
Dear coffeeandvendingmachines, RELAX, RELAX - ROME WAS NOT BUILT IN A DAY! You are putting too much pressure on yourself. You have been given some great suggestions and it sounds like you have a great nurse manager helping you. If you know you are freezing up, step back take a deep breath and say I have got this! (Remember the person in the bed (patient) is more frighten than you) - smile, do your best, ask for assistance when you need it - but don't expect to know everything on the job - it will take time to grow into the nurse position. Say to patient great question, I don't know the answer but I will find the answer for you. Be Kind to yourself- Just Relax - you will find your feet.

California Online Nurse Endorsement Application Question.
Hi AnonymousNurse2012 I looked up the link you provided in your post. I interrupted - RN number by Exam (to be the state you got licensed from completing the NCLEX) and the date you received your first license. Hope that helps. If your still unsure - contact BON by email under - contact us to verify as trying to call them is virtually impossible. Email turn around is about 3 days.

Australian nurse wanting to work in America
Hi Jeff 214, ghillbert has sound information and she has her finger on the pulse. You can present HR departments on E3 visa. I did, worked in the USA for 5 years under this visa (had it renewed twice by my employers). Its an awesome visa for Australians but you must have a Bachelor degree and apply for a position that warrants a Bachelor trained Nurse but given the nursing shortage I don't think you will have an issue on this front. You do have to get the E3 visa outside the USA. It would be worth contacting the Australian Embassy in USA to verify your options if you are in the USA. Best of luck, Keep us informed how you go?

BRN number that works?
Dear NYtoLA I feel your pain and understand completely how difficult it is to get onto Californian Board of Nursing. I had a quicker response by emailing them and only waited 2-3 days for a response. Go out on the website and look up under contact us. I found this email address - [email protected] (Applicant Services Licensing requirements, application status, advanced practice certification) Email Applicant Services Fax: (916) 574-7697 Hope it helps.
