  1. L&D and PP were not my favorite rotations. Honestly, they were the worse of all of my rotations. I didn't do anything on my L&D floor except observe a few c-sections. PP, none of my patients allowed me to do anything on them, but they were around my age (20) which is understandable. Overall, I don't think I will be going into the L&D career field. lol
  2. i will be going on to get my ACNP after I get my BSN.
  3. LPN student here.. But not for long, I graduate on Aug 14!! Only 2 weeks left!! Any questions, feel free to ask.
  4. So, right now I am furious with the psych nursing staff at a local hospital. My grandmother was admitted to a psych unit because she had a change in mental status r/t no sleep. The only way they could get her an appointment with a psychiatrist was to admit her there. Well anyway, in the middle of the night my grandmother gets up to go to the bathroom and accidentially hits the fire alarm. Well the nurse on duty at night came in there and told her she was sick and tired of dealing with her and that she was keeping everyone awake. So the nurse made the decision to restrain her with wrist restraints into a chair. Keep in mind my grandmother just had spinal surgery r/t 2 spinal fractures. Forced her into the bed with 3 people and now my grandmother is in so much pain. We took her AMA because the tx she was receiving was not appropriate. What do you guys think about this situation? Am I in the right to be furiated with the nursing staff? Thanks a lot. Kris, SN

  6. The hospital that I work at has our first name in big letters and our last name directly under that in small print with NURSING in big letters under that. So it's kind of like an eye game when people try to read your badge. -Scott

  8. Hey! I don't think taking Microbiology online would be a very smart idea. Micro is such an intense hand-on course that requires a lot of teacher-student interaction. Also, I don't think many colleges, if any, will offer a Biology class during a Winter-mini due to the fact that it is such an intense course with a lot of material to cover. 4 weeks just isn't enough time to cover everything. I took Micro during the summer, which is a 6 weeks course, and we still had to cut out a few things because we didn't have enough time to cover everything. Hope this helped!

  14. i'm taking microbiology right now during summer II, July 9 - August 18. It's very intense. I have already taken one lecture exam (98!) and then a lab practical which I made an 88 on. So right now my average for the course is at a 95.5. Wish me luck! Only 3 weeks left and 3 more lecture tests and 1 more lab practical! Good luck to everyone else!!
