I have read through each of these replies and I am still unsure of whether or not to make the move. I have visited FL a dozen times, only once in July,,,very humid,,it's also humid here in New England but only June July August, lil of Sep. It would be a big step since I am 40's and 'set in my ways' ie: seasons and all that other stuff that doesnt seem to matter as much anymore, I love diversity and get along well with almost everyone. I think the main concern for me is financial..I make appx 30 an hour here..need to do more research into pay scale etc...cost of homes...I am thinking Winter Park? I pay almost 4K in property taxes here and a 900.00 mortage..hopingf or any input and to keep this thread going school system not a big issue for me but I am more tham willing to do my fair shre in that are (I did havee 2 children who went to good schoolos here and I think every child deserves that...hope to talk to you all soon take care Sorry for rambling,just got off a 12 hour shift, I have to learn how to just say NO lol

yes correct on both counts kell maybe i should clarify..i meant she has her prescription, which means..apparently, she actually needs the med, and there was no reason for her to be worried about it either way and to let her know (since she did ask) whether she should stop taking it,, eke kk

that after 17 years i am still doling out the meds and hugs and actually still loving it.. i love a challenge and i went to the right place,, i must add, i did take a 2 year hiatus, that might have helped too lol * wink

i was working as a cna when i thought about it..the nurses i worked with were excellant. i admired them for their caring ways and the dignity and respect in which they treated our patients. i found myself thinking" i would be pretty darn good at this, i'm great with people and i care deeply about our patients" in short,..i wanted to do more. i must add, i also wanted a challenge (the pre-reqs, the whole admissions process, (they only selected 50 students out of over 250 applicants)..so i put myself to the test,,literally. i was accepted with flying colors and while it was surely not an easy road...i am gratedful that the road has led me to the path that i am now on. i will say, i have the very common "i'm getting burnt out" feeling now and then. i am fortunate that my schedule is fairly flexible and i am forever grateful i was able to take a 2 year hiatus (not just from nursing, just time for me too) i embraced the time i had to myself and have gone back to work refreshed and knowing my :redbeathe is still in it or i wouldn't have returned. i didn't have to..i also have some office/businessexperience. so for me it was 1) caring and wanting to do more 2) i wanted to challenge myself

this 'could' be why it is discouraged where i work:uhoh3: it does happen on occaion where they are related by their mother's father's brother's cousin,,but it's rare.

yes, we should stick together, i do....but some need to grow up, but some never will oh well, too bad for them..i am with you there are plenty of good nurses, most of them right here :balloons: at allnurses

for the patients/residents who need assistance whether it be supervision while smoking ..or because they are not allowed a lighter or matches...a plexi-glass fully infiltratrion free small building for the staff and another small building with exhaust fans for thepatients/residents..fully seperate from each other, but still where staff can observe them is working perfectly for all at a nearby facility..yayyy lol

great advice from all..and keep in mind there is a difference between an anxiety attack and a panic attack,,personally the latter seems condescending (he/she panicked) ,,there's soo much more to it than that and yes, you're right, the world is not going to end because you didn't reset all your pumps to zero :) i think alot of us understand where you are coming from..relax (you can try and ease up on yourself if you do have any other significant sx's definitely seek some help, diagnosed anxiety, and the people i have seen suffer from it, is no joke take care and let us know how you are doing hugs

I was reading some fo the posts and was thinking I have a pretty high tolerance for most things..UNTIL I read this. I actually gagged this would freak me out for sure I have seen maggots, but never on a human being

yes agent, another one of these threads...if you haven't even begun your nursing career how can you be so critical of us nurses? so... have you initiated any actions at your large corporation, if so, how are things going??

Great thread Frances without quoting your whole thread..these are some of the reasons I left hospital nursing, besides what it was doing to my back back to the original thread, yes, things have changed. I have been a nurse for almost 15 years and the changes are incredible. I still enjoy nursing, but I sure enjoyed it more back then

double time for holidays worked Christmas Eve and New years Eve (3-11, 11-7) are counted as holidays and are paid the double rate also

varies with the patient 1000 mcg IM monthly is pretty much the norm though
