oldfashioned? isn't it oldfashiond to bring children???!so rude!
  2. Dear KarynicaRN! i thougt it was so awful only in my school!!! i studied in Isarel, in army nurses program, so the rules were kind of jail! i've never imagined that it could be like this in any other place in the world- but it is!!! we are all treate dthe same way! my opinio- it's rediculous, but what can we do? :))) thanx for reminding me that i'm not alone!
  3. remember- your work will last for life, traveling - take every chance! take your time, think, don't be impulsive :) good luck!:heartbeat
  4. I Can't Imagine Myself Not Doing Picu!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH, YOU MADE ME CRY!- I WILL NEVER FORGET THE MIRRICLES DURING MY PICU / NICU work!
  5. good luck, very exciting to here of your happyness!!!
  6. hi all! i've registered in the internet site a couple of days ago. it's just not clear for me- how to send the diploma and the foreign (israeli) license???- they write that my school should send it... can't i send it by myself? after a translation and a notarional verification? please help!..
  7. there is a misunderstanding: on one hand it is an NSAID, because it's a non-steroida anti-inflamatoric. BUT!!! unlike the ibuprofen,it's based on cox-3 inhibition (regular NSAID's are cox1, cox2 inhibiting. AND- its metabolism is done in the liver (so it's not good for all the liver diseases and alcohol abuses, etc), unlike the reg NSAIDs, which metabolism takes place in the kidneys (so it's not good for all the kidney problemati patients), and is C/I to the peptic disease- can cause internal bleeding. so: tylenil (paracetamol)- doesn't cause any bleeding, and is C/I for the pts with liver problems.
  8. there is a danger of heart attack (like in the black box of vioxx), and every cox inhibitors can cause this, not matter if they are selective or not. above this, the nsaids can cause a nephritis, that also causes HTN- i wouldn't give my patient an ibuprofen or derivates, if he has an HTN or any kidney problems (and of coorifice a peptic dis)
  9. ibuprofen is really C/I in asthma- too much pharmacology to explain, but...: it's a non selective cox inhibitor, and the same cox (the enzyme, if you remember the vioxx case-also about cox-inh), are involved in the asthma reaction... so if you take any cox- inh, espec. non-selective- be careful with your asthma!
  10. the usage of Ibuprofen is forbidden in the 3rd trimester. not only it can cause a heart problems in the fetus, but also can cause preterm delivery. the best option for pregnant is still the paracetamol (acetaminophen)
