  1. Deep breath. and handle one thing at a time. :)
  2. I love LTC! :) Every work place has its downfalls. If you like routine (most days) and getting to know your patients...LTC is the way to go. :)
  3. I HATE TEGADERMS!!! Granted I work in LTC. I use a lot of telfa.
  4. I like the idea of making a template with the sterile side of the wrapper. Right now I cut more than one piece because I cannot eyeball the size for the life of me!!
  5. I document the behaviors I see on our behaviors form. It then gets turned into Administrator, DON, ADON, SSD, & Careplan Coordinator. Saves my behind, the residents behind. :)
  6. 42:usually 2. plus 3-4 aides. i work in LTC>
  7. I work in LTC and yes we need an order for a bandaid. It gets repetitive and seems dumb but saves you in the long run!
  8. Maybe not abuse. But extremely unprofessional. I'd give a verbal/written warning for it.
  9. I hate to have to "get after" my CNAs. However, if they are not able to be responsible and do things right then I will follow them around like a child. Irritates me. lol
  10. oh no! I'd freak if a CNA touched my skin tear! lol. they know to come get me immediately.
  11. :) i love my residents. they are my family.
  12. we have a great cna where i work. she works hard, always does a good job, and i can rely on her when she's there. that being said a couple times now, her alarm didn't go off and she's been 2+ hours late for work which in turn throws more on my other aides and makes for a hectic morning. i know she's a young girl (early twenties) but what can we do? she's been suspended for 3 days once and obviously that didn't work. other then firing her, what other options are there? any good "consequence" for her behavior without losing her?! she really is a great aide/hard worker and we know they are hard to find.
  13. oh yeah. id look sick if i didnt!! its pretty natural tho.
