  7. hey echo12. just wanna ask, do you already have a hospital experience when you applied for this program? when did you graduated? do u already have bls, first aid, ivt? i wanna know so that i can gauge my chances. I'm interested in joinging the aug batch, i hope i'll also be included in the aug batch.
  8. u applied there directly? good for you!
  9. to cucumber: I don't have actual hospital experience but I work for Bayer Healthcare Diabetes care US. Why? Do they prioritize RNs that has work experience? I thought they're accepting RNs w/o experience?
  10. I also passed the requirements September of last year but haven't heard from them since. I just called POEA and they suggested to resubmit the requirements. I'll go this week and hopefully receive an update from MOH. Good luck to us!
  11. Hi! I suggest you focus first on the upcoming boards. I took mine June 07 and after the boards that's where I looked for a job instead of waiting for the results and doing nothing. I'm now working as a customer service agent for Bayer Healthcare. We cater diabetics in the US. At least I'm into something related. It financed my trainings and seminars but I'm now applying in local hospitals and agencies for abroad. Good luck to you!
  12. is there a training fee?
  13. @ gambutrol: can I please have a copy of the deans form? PM ME PLS. THANKS! @ burbeestar: can I please have the URL of PGH? PM ME PLS. THANKS!
  14. OMG. I submitted mine September of last year and haven't heard from them since! Oh i'm sooo depressed right now.
  15. I went to SRO in BDO Plaza Makati and they do not accept walk-in applicants. For those who are interested, submit the requirements to POEA and wait for their text message. I passed the requirements Sept. last year and still no response. The guard from SRO said that there will be delegates coming this month! That's a good sign so let's keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best. Good luck to us!
  16. I had my training in Medical Center Muntinlupa last month. They conduct IVT training every 2 weeks and the fee is P2500. You can pay P1000 to be registered and pay the rest on the 1st day of training. After the training, they will let you choose a shift for your completion of cases. They are very accomodating so you'll have no problems. Once you're done with the cases, you have an option to have your requirements submitted thru their head nurse who visits ANSAP on a regular basis.
  17. I applied in POEA last Sept '08. No updates up until now. I received that text message for flight attendant for Saudi Airlines and I applied for it. (You never know, one can also be a flight nurse) I passed the prelim screening and was asked to go to Dusit Hotel. We were about 80 and only 12 were able to advance. Those girls are flight attendants of local airlines so there's no question. I found out that many nurses received that text mesage as well! Haha! We're like so desperate to go out of the country! :hngon:
  18. We're all in the same boat. I graduated Mar 2007 with high hopes of getting employed. I passed the local boards and started job hunting. The thing is, I'm now working as a customer care rep for Bayer Healthcare. :typing It is still related in a way because we cater diabetics, but I would really like to be IN a hospital! I'm applying as a nurse for KSA because they do not require hospital experience...2009 should be a good year for me! Let's just try our best to reach our goals. Let's try to be positive (even if the hospital doors is closed for us. haha):plsebeg: Good luck to us and God Bless!
  19. Hi! I took my IVT training @ Medical Center Muntinlupa just this week. It's a 3-day training and they are conducting it every 2 weeks. There is a fee of 2500 Php and you can pay it directly at the nurses station on the 2nd floor of the hospital. You can pay for a min of 1000 Php first to register and pay the remaining balance on the 1st day of training. It's really a learning experience and I think you'll enjoy more if you have someone with you and be partners for the one-on-one practical exam. Ouch! They will also give you a chance to complete the cases, they'll be giving you a list and just choose the shift you like. Hope this helps! Cheers!
  20. Hi guys! Im currrently working as a health care representative in a call center in Makati. I've been there for almost a year now. I can't just leave my job because this is where I get the money to help my brothers and sisters in schooling, there are bills to pay and medicines to buy for my mom. Im now applying in POEA as RN to eb deployed in the middle East. My dad is currently working in the middle east. I plan working there for a year or so. After that I plan to apply for New Zealand. Other nurses are fortunate..They have the money to pay all those hefty fees asked by tertiary hospitals and other exams. I'll just take it one step and one penny at a time. good luck to us!:paw:
  21. Hmmm...It seems like she is taking advantage of you..I'm sorry to say this but I was once a Nursing student and my Aunt (bless her heart) did take care of my weekly allowance. It costs her P2000/wk ( roughly $47) and that includes some miscellaneous stuff. She is asking too much and I feel bad about it. Our usual hospital duty is 3days/wk plus 2 days lecture in school. It will depend on the curriculum but I haven't heard of anything like 7days straight! That's just ridiculuous. If it's a make-up duty (that is if she missed a day of duty and it is unexcused, then it is equivalent to 3 days of duty) BUT there are still considerations..You mentioned that she had been sick for 3wks, then she must have a MED CERTIFICATE and if it is valid, then her make-up duty should be equivalent to the no. of days whe was absent. Our Dean before will make an estimation so that it will not be a burden to the student and to the family as well but at the same time it will not be unfair to the students who did attend duties. Even if she has miscellaneous fees, it would not cost her P400,000! That is just too much! I know you have a good heart but pls don't be fooled by this girl. If she is really that appreciative she will find time to contact you. Do you know the name of the school? Is she a graduating student? We can research on that..
  22. Hi! I'm a June '07 passer and I'm currently working as a health care representative in a call center..my dad wants me to gain experience by working in the middle east since experience is not usually a requirement there and besides, i can earn and save up since it's is tax free, board and lodging are also for free.. as of now, i cannot give up my current job since it helps us financially. I'm thinking of filing my resignation once i get a go signal from MOH. I still have not applied though because I still fon't have the board certificate...would any of you has an idea of the whole process if I'll be applying for Saudi-MOH. How long will it take if I'll submit my requirements this month? Hope you could advise me on this one.. would this be a wise decision? pls help.
  23. I've read the posts about the pros and cons in working in KSA...My dad wants me to work there since he is also working in KSA. He said that I can earn and save up since it's tax free...free food, accomodation, the like. I'm still kind of hesitant but I don't want to pay for a VOLUNTEER program here in the Philippines just to gain experience since Saudi is not requiring nurses to have relevant experience..I'm not that rich to pay for programs like that. I think that it's time for me to "repay" my parents' effort since my course is sooo expensive...
