  1. Yes, look at the ACN and www.campnurse.info, they both have a lot of jobs listed all alround the counrty. Now is the time to look for a summer camp.
  2. Don't wait to much longer, I know most directors start hiring in November, and would like to finish up around February/March. These two websites is useful, one has 34 openings for nurses around the country listed. Good luck, hope you enjoy camp nursng! www.campnurse.info & www.campnurse.org
  3. I work at a camp in CT, and they hire a counselors to watch younger children under 5. They call them mother's helpers. They will adjust your pay though to cover this cost.
  4. I am headed to a 7 week co-ed resident camp with my two kids in CT. Looking foward to another fun summer.
  5. Your are right, most people that work at a camp do so to give their kids the camp experience. Usally, camp counslers are single, but I have worked with single nurses and other professionals at camp. Don't get scared away from tring camp nursing, it really is a team effort. If your looking for some good jobs, try this site, they have 16 camp jobs listed. http://www.campnurse.info/camp_jobs.html Good luck.
  6. There are multiple camps listed for PA here, http://www.campnurse.info/camp_jobs.html I agree, as long as an RN or MD is present, you will work under their certificate. I worked with GNs and EMTs at summer camp in the past.It also depends on the camp and how many nurse spots they have to fill. I would contact the camps and check their needs. good luck:redpinkhe

  10. Hello mamunsey, I am interested in camp nursing this summer also. There are a number of sites with information, like campnurse.org and I came across this one site that I like. It had some useful links and and even an epi pen slide show. They have a couple jobs listed already for the New York and PA area. I am thinking of responding to the NY listing. Here is the link to the site. http://www.campnurse.info/camp_jobs.html Good luck
