I have been with CAC since August of 2007 when I started my CNA course, and I havent had any issues with any department, including financial aid. Im sorry you are having so many issues. I happen to love this school and I am very happy that I decided not to wait on Maricopa's waiting list.

I am currently in the nursing program right now. Unless you specifically enroll in the EMS class (which is separate from the Nursing program), you aren't able to get your certification. You can however get you LPN after the first year of the program and an LPN course. Rhonda

I wouldnt say difficult....I would say time consuming. A lot of reading and tons of busy work that MUST be done to pass, but you get no grade for it. The beginning of the semester will overwhelm you, but the readings slow down more towards the end.

Honestly, I love it. Doing clinicals at Casa Grande is not so great because you do not get a lot of experience, but overall, I am enjoying it. The first block I was in school Monday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 9-3. Wed was lecture days and Mon/Thurs were lab days for the first 6 weeks. We then had lab on Monday from 9-12, and then our lecture day and then our clinical day. I know things are changing AGAIN, so the schedule could be different, but that is how it was for the group in first block right now as well.

I am in second block at CAC. No clue how the point system works.

I also took my F/E exam today along with Cardio. I passed with a B. Our class was the first block to ever do well on that exam as a whole.

I did just as I expected on the finale exam. I only needed 22 pts to pass and 24 pts to maintain my B. And I got a B on the exam, so I was happy. I didnt study much because I knew I only needed a certain amount of pts. Bad thing, but hey, I just couldnt :) Good luck as you start next month!

No, the semester is over. Woohoo! One down, three more to go! We had our final last week, our last clinical was on Dec 4th. Good luck with the class! It was a very exciting time for me. Word of advice....READ THE BOOK!

For the Fall 08 semester, my schedule looked like this: Monday Skills Lab 9am-3pm for the first 6 or 7 weeks Wednesday Lecture 9am-2pm Wednesday Drugs n Dosage class from 2pm-3pm Thursday Skills Lab 9am-3pm for the first 6 or 7 weeks After the first 6 or 7 weeks, we then started clinicals. You either had clinicals Tuesday, Thursday or Friday. Your Monday skills lab then was from 9am til noon. Thursday skills lab no longer existed. Hope this helped!

Central Arizona College in Coolidge does not carry a wait list as of right now. You appy, and you either get in or you don't, and you have to apply again.

It is still an option through Central Arizona College. That has not changed....yet. Rhonda

Hey Jo~ Thanks! When we first started the semester, we were in skill lab every Monday and Thursday from 9-3. We have lectures on Wednesdays from 9-3, unless there is an exam, then we arrive at 8. Now that we are in clinicals, we only do skill lab on Mon from 9-12 and no skill lab on Thursday. Good luck!

I applied in October 07, had my interview in December 07, was notified the first week of Feb 08 that I had a spot for August class. Of course, this is at Central Arizona College. And you need a CNA certification. Best choice I made, since I did not have to sit on a waiting list. Good luck! Rhonda

I am only in Block One, but the two teachers I have are awesome. We are really lucky to have them to help us this first block. We just started clinicals so now we are even busier with the papers we get to write I am loving it. It is flying by REAL fast. Rhonda

The pre-reqs include CNA, BIO201 and BIO202. (As of this semester). In the program you have the option to sit for the NCLEX-PN, but there is an additional class at the end of the 2nd block which covers certain material needed for the LPN. You cannot sit for the NCLEX-PN unless you take this class. I think it is a two days, eight hour class. Of course, you must be admitted into the RN program first. Chemistry is NOT required for CAC, but I think it required for a BSN. Rhonda

We have studied all the history, legal issues, ethics, stress, coping, death and dying, sterile technique, assessments, NG tubes, foley catheters, trach cleaning, trach suctioning, periop care, and we should be started meds next week yipeeeee

Go to Evolve.....and get into the Fundamentals book....click on course documents....then on resources.....click on the chapter you want...and if there is a skills checklist, it should be listed...let me know if you find it...if not i can print out an extra for ya

Weird...... Guess I will find out Friday when I go pick them up lol I got two shirts, two pairs of teh drawstring pants and a lab jacket for $60+tax

don't give up!!! i failed the a and p part the first time to, but i was only at the beginning of the a and p 2 course......when i retook it, i passed. you can do it!!!!
