I agree with one of the other posters....I would inform her of how long the medication would take to infuse and ask her (only for her own safety,of course ) to go home or get some coffee while the med is hanging.

Take a deep breath......then,go in and do your skills.One person can hear one thing and your examiner hear another.I think it has to do if you are within the correct range.I wish you the best of luck :redpinkhe.

I think that we are all responsible for caring for the patient.Whether it is getting ice water or cleaning a poopy butt.If you look at the big picture instead of the smaller one,you will be ok.

Sorry,but it is your job to get the "doo-doo" off of the floor and to clean any substantial mess.The housekeepers can then go over the floor to disinfect.Think of your pt. and how they feel.We All do things that aren't our jobs.It all goes hand in hand.

I work in the hospital setting which is a lot different.I worked in the LTC setting for over ten years and yes,the patients there seem to appreciate the CNA's a bit more.

Greetings to all, This post is to vent....I am a person with Epilepsy.I tried to apply for another job.Needless to say,My seizures were fairly under control when I came to the hospital.Well,I went through a period where my meds where acting up,the seizures were occurring.I changed my shift (i worked at night) and I am on a new med and doing well.My question is,Can things be put in my record without my knowing ? I have been a CNA for over 20 yrs.I have never hurt anyone and never would put anyone in danger.I am hurt but not defeated.I am also taking pre-nursing classes.I have seen some worthless employees change departments but I do my job well and cannot progress.Thanks for any input..... niali

It has been so hard. I finally passed A&P 1.Now for A&P 2.I want to thank everyone for their replies.I know now that I am not alone and that if I want to do something,I must decide if I can or not.

Hi Pepper, I am a CNA also,and I have forgotten for a minute to turn off the feeding.It sounds like your day was a bit hurried and rushed.When things go badly,it is when we are rushed and trying to do a good job. It was a mistake.....forgive yourself but don't forget it.Hugs to you.
