Dating co-workers
I dont't think is bad to date a co-worker as liing as you maintain a professional relationship a t work. The poblem is some people are unable to do that. As far as a Supersivor dating someone they supervise is not appropriate perhaps if they wan to continue the relationship one of them should move to a different department.

Have you ever reported your coworker to the supervisor and got the person fired
As a Nursing Supervisor I have had to discipline nurses. I have never reported anyone ,but wont hesitate to do so if the nurse is incompetent and the patients are in danger. My advice to you is go by Policy and Procedure . If you go by policy you cant go wrong. The facility will have to back you up................Dont worry aboutbeing fired. Your Supervisor should provide you with the tools to do your job effectively. If there not doing it them perhaps you will be better off.

FIRED and REPORTED to the BON
PRN meds are exactly that . When needed. Generally PRN meds should be order for patients that can ask for them .They are scheduled depending on the MD orders. You have o make sure to state reason and effectiveness at least an hour after med given. :uhoh3:Hope this helps.

Medical Workers wearing scrubs to and from work, outside the Hospital, etc..
The only time I can remember having to change clothes was when I worked In Neuro ICU or in the OR. All other areas you get to wear your scrubs outside the hospital. Part of the problem is that hospitals dont provide areas for staff to change.

VA Hopeful
I have worked for the VA for the past nine years. A month ago I was told I had to put all my information in Vetpro. I had to think back to all my previous 19 yrs. of nursing. The VA does take a long time in the hiring process. But, then what government agency is not slow? I would contact human resources and tell them you are interested in aposition with them, but you have another offer and would like to know how long before thay give you an answer, This should give you an idea. It's worth the wait. The VA has excellent benefits ,job security is also a plus. Good Luck........................

How Does Your Facility Identify Code Status?
At our facility we identify pts that no code with a yellow armband. We do our charting electronically so all our informtion is on the computer. The pts DRN status is identified when the pt. is admitted . As soon as the the DRN order has been written the arm band is placed on the pt.

can someone answer me pretty please!!!
I have worked in long term care and I have had state surveyors come in at 4am. Tha main thing the surveyors want to know is that you are providing safe quality care to the residents. Be polite to them. If they ask you a question you are not sure off ,tell them " I dont know the answer ,but I can look it up for you" Jus make sure where information is available if you dont know the answer. Make sure pts are identified priot to any treatment and that you provide privacy. this seems to be a biggy. Also, restraints and psych meds . make sure you can provide them with good documentation. And they are included in your nursing care plan. Hope this helps . Just be yourself and dont try to do things you dont ordinarily do. They notice these things. Good Luck!
