  1. I contacted HR and haven't gotten a response. Can someone give me some information please. I am relocating in June to Atl and I noticed they have alot of interesting open positions.
  2. Well I make $29.50 base with and additional 12% for my shift diff and an additional 11% for w/e's. :yeah:I work on a TCU unit here in Ohio. When I interviewed at the local hospitals they only offered me $23.50 base with $4 shift diff. One of them only offered me $22. I have been a LPN since 1991 and RN since 2007. When I work agency I make $32 weekdays and $38 w/e's not including any shift diffs. I am relocating to Atlanta this summer and I'm a little afraid at some of the wages I have seen while looking for jobs. :uhoh21: SYN RN
  3. Well if you don't mind let me know what kinda perks they're offering and what their pay scale looks like. SYN RN
  4. So what is there pay scale like and shift diffs or incentives like SOB's? I recently applied for one of their internships. SYN RN
  5. Well when you find out please let me know...LOL:)
  6. WELL I WORKED AT UC AS A LPN FOR 3 YRS. I INTERVIEWED AT BOTH HOSP WHEN I BECAME A RN LAST YR. I CAN TELL YOU TO GO FOR GSH BECAUSE THEY DO HAVE PERKS AND BONUSES. UC DOESNT OFFER ANY INCENTIVES...NO SOB OR ANYTHING. THEY CUT ALL OF THAT OUT UNLESS YOU GO INTO CRITICAL CARE WHICH WAS OFFERING A $4500 SOB. GSH IS JUST A BETTER HOSPITAL BUT THE PTS AT UC WILL GIVE YOU LOTS OF EXPERIENCE SINCE IT IS A TEACHING HOSPITAL AND A LEVEL 1 TRAUMA HOSP. THE ABOVE POSTER IS TELLING YOU THE TRUTH ABOUT ALL THE INCENTIVES AT GSH. I KNOW THEY WERE OFFERING A $4000 SOB WHEN I INTERVIEWED. I MUST SAY THEIR COMPUTERIZED CHARTING SYSTEM IS HORRIBLE THOUGH. LOL.
  7. I Have Been Hearing Alot Of Positive Things About Atlanta Medical Center...tenet System. Does Anyone Have Any Information About Working There? I Noticed They Offer Relocation Reimbursement And Loan Forgiveness Or Sign On Bonus. What Is Their Pay Scale Like And The Working Conditions? Which Is Better Emory Or Tenet? Please Help With Some Advice...june Is Quickly Approaching!!! Lol Syn Rn
  8. So what kinda benefits and pay scale are they offering?
  9. St. Luke Hospital on Van Buren in downtown Phoenix. I contacted them earlier this year and they have changed the benefits some because their recruiter isnt there anymore. I heard this week that there is a new recruiter so let me know what the benefits are now. I didnt go because they changed the benefits so I am still here...LOL SYN RN
  10. Hyde Park Health Center...they are located in the same building as the nursing home but they are their own seperate unit and is RN only. Basically they share the same building and you work for them but you aren't with them...LOL SYN RN
  11. Try Davita for dialysis. I don't have experience and just interviewed there a few weeks ago. Another girl who graduated with me had no experience and they hired here already and sent her to Columbus for a week of training. I hope I get the job!!! They are checking out my references now. SYN RN
  12. I just got hired on a TCU ( transitional care unit) and the base is $27.50 with a $2.00 increase to your base pay after completing a skills assessment in 2 weeks. Also an increase of 11% after 3pm 12% for w/e and 4% for nites and $4.00 extra for more than 16hrs on a w/e shift. Oh and they supply your uniforms. :w00t: SYN RN
  13. Why is Northside Hospital having a RN shortage? Are the working conditions decent? SYN RN
  14. Does anyone have any info about the working conditions and wages for Kindred LTAC, Select Specialty LTAC, Davita, Atlanta Medical Center, and VA? I'm trying to get all the information I can because I'm coming to ATL in June. SYN RN
  15. Do any of the Emory Hospitals have an acute psych unit? Not the boring gero-psych but regular adult-psych? SYN RN
  16. I don't live in the ATL area but I am relocating there myself in June. I have been looking at the area hospitals websites along with www.ajc.com which is their online newspaper. You can upload your resume to most of the hospital sites and the job search websites also. I have found many interesting RN jobs posted there. I went to www.careerbuilders.com also and searched for ATL RN jobs there also. I also gaied some info from www.city-data.com. A few of the hospitals offer relocation assistance but it isn't much. I'm still trying to find the average starting salary myself. I know that Emory Hospital offered me $23/hr as a LPN in 2005 but I was a LPN since 1991 so I was based higher. I have submitted my resume and cover letter to Emory already for RN positions. BTW I became a RN last year..so I don't have much experience as a RN but I'm selling my years of being a LPN. I gained alot of info from this website also. I also just do random internet searches for ATL nursing jobs and see what comes up. If you find anything interesting let me know and I wil try to do the same. I wish I could help more but I'm still searching for info myself. SYN RN

My class graduted in Aug 2007 and MVH hired quite a few nurses from my class. I was lucky to have an awesome clinical instructor who taught us real nursing skills and I thank her everyday for that because most of them in our class had lazy or uninterested instructors who didnt push them or teach them clinical skills...Thank you AJ for teaching us REAL skills at Kindred!!!!! SYN
  18. Does anyone have any information/feedback about Chamberlain College of Nsg online program? I know that there are NO clinical requirements and that it only takes a year or less if you have several credits to transfer in like stats etc. I haven't heard any reviews on the program and was wondering if anyone else has before I start in March.
  19. Do any of these hospitals in atlanta offer relocation assistance? Does anyone know about Piedmont Hospital or is Grady and Northside the best as far as pay rates? I just want to make sure that I can afford to live in a nice area which isnt as far out as Kennesaw or Alpharetta etc Syn
  20. I can say that University Hospital is in the union so you will pay union dues and the starting pay is awful. A lot of RNs are leaving the alliance and going to other hospitals. I would look into the Mercy hospitals, VA, Christ Hospital, Trihealth or possibly Children's. University Hospital is part of the Health Alliance and they don't offer any perks like the other hospitals. Trihealth offers a $4000 sign on bonus and so do all the others but University only offers it if you go into their critical care internship. Also The Christ Hospital is no longer with the Health Alliance and their job opps can be seen on careerbuilders.com or their own personal web site. I myself have interviewed for VA because they have excellent perks and benefits...just waiting for an answer. I been working for American Nursing Care since I graduated and the $$$ is good. So just check out all your options and call the recruiters and ask them about sign on bonuses, incentive bonuses, pay scales etc.

CONGRATULATIONS ON ALL OF YOU HAVE GRADUATED AND PASSED BOARDS!! :balloons::balloons: I GRADUATED IN AUG 2007 AND PASSED WITH 75 QUESTIONS IN LIKE 45-50 MIN. I MUST AGREE WITH ANTFLIP THAT EVERY SCHOOL HAS ITS ISSUES AND IT JUST REQUIRES YOU TO STUDY HARD AND JUST DO WHAT U GOTTA DO TO LEARN THE MATERIAL.

Well I paid $40.00 for a 3 week subscription on NCSBN and had 24 hr access. I didn't use the Kaplan trainer but paid about $25.00 for the purple strategy book which was pretty good. The orange and blue prioritization/delegation book was about $25.00. I hate to say it but my Saunders book is still practically new but i utilized the cd and the NCLEX 3500 web site. SYN RN :monkeydance:
  23. I graduated from RETS ADN program 8/07 and they have a contract with IASIS. You just agree to relocate for 3 yrs and they will give you $7500 relocation assistance and you just commit to work at one of their hospitals and they pay for your schooling. Check out www.iasishealthcare.com It's actually a good program the hospital in Phoenix was willing to pay me with shift diff and my years of LPN exp around $50/hr+. If you are close to finishing the ADN program you don't even need to sign a contract just chose the only hospital in Phoenix that offers loan forgiveness. LOL Oh in response to the original thread, I am a psych nurse near the Cincinnati area and love it!!! I'm going right back into psych as a RN!!! SYN RN :monkeydance:
  24. I used the purple Kaplan strategy book and cd, a purple and orange prioritization/delegation book, and lots of prayers. The Sylvia Rayfield books were ok for short to the point information. I also surfed through the exam cram book of 704 pages and had subscribed to the NCSBN for 3 weeks in Aug. I passed NCLEX RN with 75 questions. SYN RN :monkeydance:
