New nurses thinking of leaving nursing
I graduated May 2008 and I HATE my current job on a med surg floor. No support and have had several managers in the last 1 /2yrs. I pray everyday as I don't want to leave nursing, but I am TRULY burned out!!!! ALLL READY!!!!! Sad....I know..I actually pray that I get cancelled when our census are low....!Been putting in applications for jobs, but no calls yet. The older nurses tell me it didn't use to be this bad; Im not sure what is making it bad. I just know...I don't like what I am feeling and doing cause I often don't feel safe. I wish we had a union also.....I pray everyday and night for guidance and pray that you receive some too.

Struggeling New Grad working in the med surg floor.
OMG!!! I have been on my own now for 8mos and I STILL feel the same way....I have come to really dislike my job ALREADY! I don't like not feeling "safe" and still having trouble mananging my care and paperwork...paperwork...paperwork...and yeah...I will probably will need depends when I get older because my bladder will be no good! Many times...I don't take a break and eat lunch for only 15 minutes or so before I am back on the floor. I don't know...I was told its "where" I work, but it sounds like its a "new nurse" thang. Being in Med surg has really made me think twice about bedside nursing period. Don't like that I feel this way, and have been working hard to "think" other wise, but hasn't been helping. I will say a prayer for ALL the new nurses, may be find balance soon!!!!!!

New Grad moving to ATL need advice...
Hi all, I am new to allnurses and really appreciate the amount of information and experience on this site. I will be graduating this May and moving to the Atlanta area. I have read previous posting and got some really good information about hospitals in the area.(thanks....) I am trying to get ALL the information I can as to jobs I should or could apply for. Beside applying to hospitals it there other areas (ie. clinics, healthcare agencies etc.) that I can or should apply too as a new grad and how do I find out more information about it. Also, what is the pay rate? Does it depend on your degree? I would appreciate ANY and ALL information given........ thanks again....
