Congrats to FemmeRN on finishing the nursing program at GSU.. I work in the health clinic there in immunizations and I try to ask all the questions I can about the program and so far I have heard nothing but good things! I am currently attending gpc doing my pre req's and I am hoping to apply for the fall 09 program at Georgia state!!! I to want to specialize in Mother Baby!!! Good LUck

I heard of that! but how much do they give you I thought it was like 1,000 a semester right? I guess that would help. but I dont know if I could not work and pay bills with that...hahahaha

good question, I want to know the same thing, I am still taking pre req's but once in the program I would like to stop working and finish the program.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! no i havent attended a session, how do I find out the dates and times of them? I got a B in 1101. I am taking 1102 online and i am pretty good at english which I thought, however I have a tough professor.

so do you think if I got a C in my English 1102 course that I should retake the class? I know 1102 is not a requirement but I took it because I know it is a req for Georgia State incase I take that route

I'm sorry you didnt get in! but dont give up!!! keep applying. I am actually still taking pre reqs at GPC and will not apply til spring of 09. I work in the health clinic at the front desk at Georgia State and I drill EVERY student that comes in the door for advise and I actually think i might have a better shot at there program. apply for more than one, I am going to apply to ALL OF THEM.

hello!!! Does anyone know how difficult it is to get into a nursing refresher course? I am intersted in Broward Community College. I have a BS in nursing but never became licensed. my degree is 12yrs old. I want badly to get back into nursing. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!!

I also needed information on that as well, I am just starting though, but once I finish my pre req and get in a program I wanted to quit my job and concentrate on the program. I am also a single mom of two and I figured the only way would be to apply for loans, but I dont want to be stuck and cant pay them back. Does anyone know of any good scholorship programs?

I am a single parent of two. I am currently in the pre nursing program at GPC. Once I finish my prereq and actually begin the program I hear it is really hard to work and do well, I hear there is lots of aid out there to help you, however I have searched and only see the regular fasa and of course student loan. there is a girl I met that said she gets 6-10grand a semester in scholorships and free money so she doesnt have to work and can focus on school. It is my goal to not work once I get in the program. Does anyone have info on free money available for nursing?

What is the LINK class? I just started GPC this spring. I am learning support math 98 so it prohibits me from taking many of the courses. I have taken english, pols, pys,phed,research,communications. i need to take my sciences but cant I guess until i get in college algebra. I was wondering what I can take this summer that would relate to my nursing program. any ideas?

Thank you I am going to look into griffin. I met this girl that was on the wait list for griffin, well not actually wait list but she said that they choose you by gpa and she hadnt gotten in yet so she'd decided to take medical assistant, i dont want to go that route.

Does Kaylim have a lpn program or is it just lpn to rn? is it in Atlanta? I am trying to find a lpn school in atlanta that may not have such a long waiting list.

wow! thats great for CNA although i hear that the pay is really good in cali because the cost of living is really high. cna's in georgia dont get half of that and recently moving from florida they dont make that either the average is anywhere from 7-11 per hour

yeah i heard that GPC is improving. i actually applied there I am suppose to start my pre req's this summer but i was a little afraid after reading all the horrible post. I am just torn between whether to take the lpn program first then bridge over or go straight for the 2 year Rn. honestly I really need to gain employment as quick as possible so i thought if i did lpn i could work while waiting to be accepted into nursing... where is gordon college? i live in the atlanta area is that far from me, i am new here. Yeah, they sent me something in the mail that its only in covington. I am not even sure where that is, i am new to atlanta and I live in the atlanta area near the airport. Where in gwinnett do they offer the lpn program?

Anyone currently attending dekalb for the lpn program or any graduates that can tell me if its a good school to take the nursing course? And are there any Atlanta tech students out there that can advise me on there program. I have enrolled into both schools and I am trying to get some advice on either.

Someone told me today that it may not be affective applying for the positions online which thats what i have been doing on a daily basis so on next week i will go to the hospitals directly...hope that works
