Anyone have any stories pertaining to this? I never had a problem for 8 years and now I'm in a war. I'm not talking about what's on top and how it's arranged. I'm talking about the items in each drawer. I'm the full time day nurse with a recent hire of a brand new grad who is full time now also who has never worked in LTC ( her first real job). The other nurses at our facility are laughing over this but I have to live it. When other nurses have worked my unit nothing ever was changed or put out of place. This is actually The way I received this unit when I first started years ago. And kept it the same. When i work other units i dont change their Med carts. Anyone?

Nothing yet, also....I also applied in January. No information packages, nothing. Got a phone call once, but my phone wasn't working properly so I don't know what they said; it was like a courtesy call is all I could hear.

Sounds like burn-out. Seek help. Anxiety attacks; even when you feel your life around you is fine.....you need a break; or need to pace yourself..... Like the person stated above; seek help. Do not hesitate; do it now! Think of yourself for once and look after yourself~ What good are you to anyone if you can't take care of yourself! You do count! Please seek help now. Love yourself!

What is the cost of living in your home town? Do homes cost 1/2 million dollars? Does gas cost 1/2 your pay? Just wondering.

Is it really 2 years for an RN education where you are? Here in Canada, its 4 years full-time for a RN, and 2 years full time for a RPN. Where are you located?? :)

So, does this mean that a female nurse is called a: Furse ? Male=M= Murse; Female=F= Furse ??

Here in Canada also, specifically Ontario. Went to a job fair recently. There were only about 8 recruiters there. The ones we spoke to either had jobs for HCA or RN's, NO RPN/LPN 's at all!!! There were asking me for my HCA certificate, as they had immediate jobs but nothing for RPN/LPN's. Unreal! I am already registered to go on and take the RN route with a University here. I thought that after 3 years of part time study to get my diploma, I would be able to use it. Now I find I am going backwards with a diploma, as they are now only asking for my HCA certificate! HINDSIGHT !!! Now, the option...another 3 years to get my degree!! Do I go on?? Will they look at my BScN the same way they look at my diploma?? I hear that alot of degree RN's are now going for their masters!! Does it end? I know nursing is all about keeping updated, but how does one get into nursing when they keep changing the requirements! Ahhhhhh is all I can say.... Guess, its another 3 years of schooling for me!

I guess it all depends on the college and their program. Believe me I wish the whole program was I year only. With Centennial you attend their College then apply to Ryerson afterwards. From the Centennial bridge you need a GPA of 3.0 inorder to apply to the university. From there you complete the final 2 years of the RN program.

No word yet from UOIT, but I am already accepted into the Centennial/Ryerson route......Bahamas here I come! LOL

She means that the actual bridge is 1 year (2 semesters) then you go into the University RN program after that. (2 years) for a total of 3 years.

No job yet for this RPN grad, still trying though....

Don't worry, RPN's are also not getting hired lately...either

Hi FN89 ! I didn't apply to UT because they don't accept RPN status anymore, only university credits it seems (unless I read it wrong). So, I have applied to Centennial/Ryerson Bridge, and UOIT. I have been to the UOIT campus, and love their lab there. Also, it would mean that I wouldn't have to change schools with the bridging program at UOIT (its all done at the same school - the bridge and the actual RN program). UNLIKE the bridge with Centennial and Ryerson. Although, I have heard great things from Ryerson. Its sort of like : taking a trip to the Bahamas: you can either take a direct flight, or go another route and have to transfer. LOL LOL I would prefer the Direct route! :)

I guess we are in the same boat FN89 ! Hope we hear soon, one way or another. Want to make my choice, soon!

Anyone hear back from UOIT ?? The university in Oshawa. I was sent a letter saying they would get back to me in a couple of weeks, and its now a month later. Are they behind? The program I am talking about is the Post-RPN program to RN

Congrats! While doing my clinical with Seneca, I met wonderful teachers from GB! They impressed me with how friendly they were! Anyways, down to the question: I was accepted into the Bridging program with Centennial/Ryerson. I had a GPA of 3.6 and didn't get exempt. I will be attending Centennial, then Ryerson.

Yes, there is a difference between the 'book' world, and the 'real' world. I was told to take the question for what it is and not read into it anymore than what is there. Very difficult to do when a nurse! We have so many questions regarding the patient (real world). As with you I would of also put into the same order, taking the question as it is. Real world, a lot more assessment is done!

I was wondering the same thing as you. Should I go for my RN at 48. Wow, its hard admitting I am that age! LOL Certainly don't feel that age! LOL Anyways, with all the comments regarding your case, it has made my decision a 'no brainer' also. Of course! Go For It !! Why not!! So, I too will continue on, and remember there are many many others out there doing just the same thing. You are not alone! I will if you will! LOL:)
