  1. Thanks for your input. We started our clinicals 2 weeks ago and we were assigned to one of the Nursing Homes in Waterbury. I found it really hard for some CNA's because they have 30 patients and there's only 3 of them. That's a heck of a lot! And they only get what??? $11 -$13??? I think that's too little for the load of work that they have which sometimes made me discouraged to work as one of them when I finished school.
  2. Hi! I am currently attending a Nursing Aide Program here in CT. We have 3 classes a week. Two 31/2 hrs and one 7hrs during Sat. Our instructors sometimes let us go home like 1/2 an hour early. I don't know how does your Instructor teaches you but I think you should be taught about the program and not about Hollywood movies. You paid for that and you're supposed to get the right Lessons or whatever that you need to know in order to pass the State Exam and most of all in order to be a dependable CNA.
  3. :yeah: :yeah: very well said!!!!!!!!
  4. Thank you so much about the infos. I think you are right about the calls not being returned. I called maybe twice asking for the course catalog that was 2 months ago and until now I haven't recieved anything. I even spoke to one of them and asked me a few questions and the lady told me if am I sure I can do it, because I got 2 kids and the class will be held 4 times a week. I mean, y the heck would she ask me that? It's sounds like a discouragement on my part, plus I don't understand y they couldn't send you the information ie. catalog, brochure?
  5. if i were you, i start reviewing now and retake the nclex-rn. because seriously i haven't heard of an nclex-pn in the philippines. don't lost hope, there's always time for everything, maybe this is not your time yet to come to the us. good luck!

  11. I just moved here in CT 3 months ago, I live in the New Haven County area. I am planning to enroll next week at the Naugatuck VTCC, they have evening classes and it will take about 4 weeks to complete the program. Right now, I'm working in a retail store. Thank you so much for all the infos! Best of luck to you! Thanks again.
  12. I am planning on getting into the CNA program this Feb., and this site and all the people who gave their inputs helped me a lot on my decision making on whether I should get into the program. After all the browsing and reading, I am 100% positive now that I'd like to get into the program first before continuing to become an RN. YAY! I must say this website is the best!!! Hope this will continue 'til forever!!! Sorry guys, I'm just soooo happy that I found website.
  13. As to what I have heard you have to be CNA in order to be a PCT. In other words, being a CNA is a pre-req for PCT, and also u need to take some EKG and some other stuff. Hope this helps.:wink2:
  14. Just wondering if you're from CT? You're username obviously doesn't look like you're from here. :)
