  1. What happens if someone puts the device in one place while they go somewhere else, and maybe go somewhere else they really should not be because they have the TRACKING DEVISE as an alibi. HMMMM:uhoh21:

  3. I think they need to end the nurse shortage before adding to the unattractiveness of our profession that others may see when viewing our profession, first have the available nurses to track. I mean do we really need to strangle the healthcare budget on a device that will help cover our buts against the spoiled brats of the world who think waiting 10 minutes for a nurse to return is too long of a wait. Other than that I think certain floors such as the E.R and Labor and Delivery are great to have for the device due to its high acuity.
  4. OK i have to know what state is this where you can buy a beautiful home like that, I would never afford anything that looks like that here in Missouri
  5. I guess my statement can be broad since I took ownership of my statement by stating "personally",I wasnt really seeking approval or disapproval, just commenting independently of anyone elses statement. So yes they are all acceptable to me as far as getting an affordable education but like I said in my opinion I preferred FLO- Valley. I really didnt say what I said to put down anyone elses nursing program.
  6. It can be expensive but since i had my science classes transferred in from Fontbonne College I only paid 17 thousand for the entire year and a half, which i chose to do instead of finishing in one year. if I had went to Oak wood college where I initially planned on going the only offer associate degree in nursing after finishing a four year term, and they were a little over 10 thousand a year so i would have been owing 40 grand back instead of 17 grand, but, yes the community college is real cheap, I personally like Florissant Valley over all the rest.
  7. thanks for the information, I'll be calling them today and will try to be persistent without being a pain.
  8. well, last time I checked the money isnt something to get too excited about so I guess I will pay bills like I been doin.
  9. How long should it take for a Hospital to call you back? I always state on my resume that I will call in a week to check my status, well, it hasnt been quite a week yet, so I'm just impatient I guess, but I really dont want to have to resort to giving in to an agency, I know they will only want to send me to hospitals, and I have no experience there, I was a LPN for 7 years in LTC, and I made a pack with myself I would never step foot in one again, not because of the patients, I love the elderly but the management of some of those places could or should do community service for some of the pranks they pull on the employees as well as the patients. So, I thank God every day I have compassionate parents who allow me to live with them without me being a headache and vice versa, but I really want to hurry and get my work on so I can get out of their hair and give them their space back.
  10. Hello everyone, I'm still searching for a job, I passed my NCLEX RN on the 9th of this month but I just began searching for a job last week, I don't know why I'm so nervous I was a LPN for 7 years. I didn't work while attending school for the past year and a half, maybe that's why! Oh, By the way I happened to stumble across this site while searching for nurse supplies.
  11. Can I expect to see this on 60 minutes in the next couple of years, because this is tragic enough to warrant their attention, I will add you to my prayers, God didnt assign you a nurse for nothing, He always has your back in the end. When the dust settles and the chips fall where they may, you'll see his plan for you even more clearly.. Keep hope and keep us posted.
  12. I currently have a ASN, just graduated in December, passed NCLEX on the 9th of JAn, and now I'm wandering should I do my BSN online and actually go to class for my Masters. That was my instructors advice, but I need more than one opinion.
  13. I'm starting to think maybe that is one of the reason she was hired more place than me.:rotfl:
  14. That my thoughts exactly, I never wore scrubs to an interview. I would feel too out of place. I think my friend maybe left out a something, like maybe she told them she was coming from work.
  15. my friend says she has always wore them and was hired. what do you think?
  16. You can get your job back.contact EEOC, a similar situation happened to a co-worker of mine becasue she had to take a lot of time off due to her son's sickle cell disease they fired her and had to give it right back, they cannot terminate you under those circumstances , get a lawyer, that is discriminating.
  17. Des Peres Hospital was giving a 15,000 sign on bonus, I dont know if they are still offering it at this time.
  18. The difference in our profession versus other professions, is that your duties actually do change once you get a B.degree. and nursing duties dont, so NO we have a profession that requires total care and knowldge no matter what degree you obtain because hate to tell ya..OUR EXPERIENCE COMES THROUGH PRACTICE. a paralegal is not a lawyer although they do some of their work, but they are not and cannot be named the same. A Rn ASN cannot be named another title other than a nurse and neither can a RN BSN, they both are required to perform the same expected standard of care.WE work with PEOPLE's LIves not with machines or criminals. some BSN Nurses are seriously EGO trippers get over it or become a doctor if you want to be in a category all your own.
  19. Dont feel bad people start nursing at many ages, you just feel old when your at a 4 yr college witha buch of 20 yr. olds. but its never too late.:typing
  20. I think you just dont want to work...There are so many areas of nursing you havent even tried, Clinic, homecare, camp nurse, school nurse, I cant believe your just giving up, but I respect your decision, I know its not for everyone. But the fact you mentioned your husband has money makes me think you dont really want to work hard because of that. I'm not saying this to be negative because if my man were to take care of me I would be in a clinic or school somewhere. But I wouldnt quit altogether. Hope you miss it once you're gone we need ya.
  21. I agree llg, continue education is important but only so much can be obtained unless you plan on crossing the path to becoming a doctor. furthering your degree should not , however, be as expensive as it is. If I were a RN with 15 years experience and settled in my life, no way I would want to go back to college and acrue more debt for a BSN, just to study what I have been practicing for years, Nursing is stills a profession of practice and not necessarily of gaining as many degrees as possible to gain some sort of further respect from the medical community. I think jjjoy has a good idea goin when a nurse shortage is a thing of the past.
  22. I do believe that if you think what you just stated, well, they may be able to see through the attitude if your genuine or not, and I'm not making excuses but your the professional and dont expect them to be, so you need to be more assertive and get your point across straight forwardly and to the point, tell them I'm need this at such time, try to educate them on the seriousness of their duties as brief as possible and, if they still dont comply not only document it for yourself but verbally confront them on how you cant tolerate not having the appropriate help they are suppose to give. After that I would report it to the supervisor everytime and dont forget to keep your own Journal. I do believe that CNA's should be held to some accountability and many times employers treat them as if they dont know better and arent suppose to know better just because they lack schooling, Yea bull to me too. You dont want to be agressive or stir up friction but try and empathize with them and at the same time tell them that you if you have to do it all by yourself then management will have to get involved. I
  23. Yes expectations change all the time but not at the expense of wasting 40 grand with no hope of more aid. This is clearly a policy that does not have to be written in stone and can be modified for the seniors only considering their student loans and that is just wrong, and the real world isnt always right especially when the rules sometimes only apply to the less fortunate and less important. FIGHT THAT GIRL EVEN IF YOU cAN GET IT WRITTEN UP IN THE PAPER.
  24. Do that, my girlfriend revealed she always wore a real nice scrub outfit to interviews and always was hired,I was shocked I always wore a nice pant outfit, I had no idea.
  25. YOu didnt know... this is the American WAy, be wise dont get caught up. hear no evil.. see no evil.... speak no evil and you'll be fine..oh and watch your back.
