Hospice interdisciplinary care plan
Hi, I currently work at a brand new assisted living facility. I am the Director of Nursing. We just admitted a resident that is on hospice (why? she is doing really well). My question is, any tips on doing an Interdisciplinary Care Plan? Is there a specific form I can download? i am set to have a care plan meeting with the hospice nurse this week and don't want to look like a complete idiot. :) Thanks for your help. Christine

Accepted to BCC LPN Program
i believe it was within 8 weeks. orientation was the first week in december. the envelope was 5 x 7 and thick. that is a good indicator. i got in the first shot, but heard some of the students had applied 3-4 times. it was hard. a lot of studying, but not so much homework. i was class president, graduated with honors, took care of a husband, two kids and my home remained spotless. so if i could do it anyone can. mrs. uniacke is a great teacher and pretty much taught from the book, major was difficult, i used to record his lectures and his tests were based on that info. ms. bower's tests were off the wall, still don't know what books she was teaching from. good luck, let me know if you get in.

i passed the nclex pn
that is a long time to wait. here in florida we can go online to the department of health and get our unofficial results in 2 days. i received my license in the mail 1 week after the test. i am surprised with california being so progressive that there is no way to find out your results sooner. good luck. my fingers are crossed.

i passed the nclex pn
i just want to thank all of you on this board. it got me through school. the information on this site is invaluable. i we continue poking around in the future as i move ahead towards my rn. my computer shut off at 85 and i most certainly thought i failed. medications i never heard of, tons of SATA. it was horrible. i came home and stayed in bed the rest of the day. thank goodness for my husband, he took care of my kids and ran out to purchase me chocolate covered macadamias. two days later i found out i passed. good luck to you all and thank you again.

Took the NCLEX-PN. Got hardly any priority.
i haven't taken mine yet. still waiting for my approval from the board to test. i have been studying for 2 months and still feel like i don't know anything. i am sure you did fine. if not - scream, cry, pull your hair and start all over again. that is all you can do. good luck.

Summer Session Sign In
my classes start may 14th and run through aug. 3rd. i am taking - intro to healthcare, survey of a & p, medical terminology, microcomputers. i am hoping to get into the lpn program that starts in january. my net test is may 17th, but even if you pass the net test it doesn't guarantee you a spot in nursing school

Medical assistant confused
go to or call your local community college. they may have the lpn course as well as the rn course. the staff in the medical department will be able to answer all your questions. personally i am on my way to becoming an lpn. my local community college requires pre-req's as well as taking a net test. the kicker is just because you take these courses does not guarantee you entry to nursing school. it seems to be like that all over the country. so work as a medical assistant, earn some money and try to persue nursing. put applications into both the lpn and rn program. good luck.

How many patients do you have?
i was a cna back in 2001 to 2004. it was the hardest but most rewarding job i ever had. the best thing i can tell you is to find a cna buddy and work together. i worked in nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

near death experience
just wondering if you all had any patients who lived to tell of their 'near death experiences' that you can share. i find the afterlife very interesting. thanks, christine

Nurses With Hypothyroidism
i too have hypothyroidism. over the years there have been days where i have forgotten to take my med and sometimes didn't take it on an empty stomach or take my medicine and then eat something. i have found this has not hurt me in the least. at least i don't think so. i try not to make a habit of it, but it does happen.

im giving up..;( any advice? please
the whole nursing school thing just stinks. here in fl. you have to take a college placement test then a t.a.b.e. test and then a net test. take pre req's and are still not guaranteed to get into nursing school. something is VERY wrong here. i am thinking about becoming a medical assistant. i don't really know what the pay is in the melbourne, fl area, but i am going to give it a shot. i am just waiting for my college application to be processed and i have sent in my financial aide package. i found out my "expected family contribution" is going to be 0. yeah! i think that means i wont have to pay anything to go to school. good luck. i hear radiography pays very well.
