  1. If the pulse is not strong enough to palpate then it's not strong enough to oxygenate. Continuing CPR was absolutely the right thing to do.
  2. You just don't know when/if anything else will come up. The market is soo tight right now....
  3. I was taught to confuse the pain gates:cool:
  4. DOH!!!:smackingf Thank you!
  5. I am a new grad searching for a job and keep coming across this abbreviation, and before I apply I would like to know what it means.....
  6. I waited 4 weeks and wish I had taken it as soon as I received my ATT. I passed, but it was the added pressure of knowing that all my classmates who had taken the test had passed and I didn't want to break the streak!! Good luck to you!
  7. SUNY orange has an evening program. There are pre-reqs, so you should look into and get started ASAP. www.sunyorange.edu Good luck!!

  10. Oregon has a Death with Dignity law.
  11. I am a nursing student currently doing my first clinical roatation in a LTC facility. One of my major concerns is hurting a patient. Can any of you that specialize give me solid tips/pointers on safely 'handling' the patient. I am very concerned about their fragile skin breaking...I would appreciate any help!
  12. No advice, just wanted to wish you luck....
  13. I would have been all over that! I felt let down my first clinical becuase my patient didn't have a cath. or anything, and other students had the opportunity to o cath care and colostomy care...My husband tells me I am just a sick geek...
  14. If you do not have your shot-record you could have titers drawn which is about $100 in my area. Good luck!
  15. Don't the body's normal sugar levels dip at 10 and 2?
  16. I was in the same boat: I dropped out of High School and obtained my GED. I registered at SUNY Orange (Orange County Community College) with my GED and was required to take their Math and English placement tests. I completed my pre-requisites last year and began my first semester of Nursing last week. You can do it, but it will take some time as most 2 year RN programs require you to complete the pre-requisites first. Also, Suny Orange began administering the TEAS this year, very similiar to your GED exam. Best wishes!!
  17. I have those exact shoes and wore them during my phlebotomy clinicals and will also wear them for nursing clinicals. They were pricey, but my body is worth it!
  18. I just finished a phleb class in the spring and I thought all needleswere required to have safety devices.... Good luck with measures...I will say a prayer for you.

Alright, don't knock this before you try it! When you feel the first tingle cover the area that tingles with Colgate toothpaste (the white paste). I get cold-sores in the spring and going into winter and this is what works best for me. Yes, many say I have a little food on my lip (or wherever the paste is) but it doesn't bother me because I would rather have a few people comment on that then to have a cold sore. Take it or leave it......good luck.
  20. By the time I graduate (ADN), I will have completed 5 years of college; 1 year part-time getting caught up (pre-algebra, etc.), 2 years full-time pre-reqs, and then the two years it will take to earn my ADN. All of the time spent away from my family would make me think loong and hard about jumping ship, not to mention my hard work. Of course I plan on earning my BSN in a couple years when my kids are in high school, but when the pay difference is soo minimal between ADN/BSN, I can wait. My
  21. That was very cool!
  22. First some links for you: http://caonline.amcancersoc.org/cgi/content/full/57/1/7 http://www.cdc.gov/STD/HPV/STDFact-HPV.htm http://www.fda.gov/WOMENS/getthefacts/hpv.html I think it is very important that any parent do research on a vaccine for an STD that is targeting young girls before having it administered to their young daughters. The links I provided are a drop in the bucket, and always keep in mind the credibility of the authors. Good Luck!
