Let's introduce ourselves...
Hi Holly. Kristy here. I also just took the boards and passed with 91 questions. I moved a week ago to Charleston, SC and I LOVE it here!!! Im so excited, I just got a new job today and I cant wait to start working as a nurse! I just have one question, and I dont know where to post it. I was employed by a pulmonologist office. They do bone scans... alot! I was just wondering if you knew, or knew anyone who would know, why would a pulmonologist do these test?? My mom had one done by her arthritis dr... I just thought it'd be nice to know this info for my first day!!

Moving to Charleston South Carolina
hey to nikki and everyone else. I just grad from LPN school in august and I am moving with my fiance' to Charleston, SC. he is flying cargo planes there with the airforce. anyways, I was wondering if yall could offer me any help into what schools are good (for LPN-BSN) and where I could start looking for a hospital job. is it hard to dot that kind of thing with just my LPN? I will be able to work full time until Jan, bc I will have to start taking pre reqs for my RN about that time. I have read all of your posts and I think yall are great and very helpful... so keep up the good work, and send some info my way! Thanks in advance, Kristy LPN (ps. my experience is well, I was a student for 2 years and I did home health after grad until now, so thats about 1 month of work. yikes!)

Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!
hi LVN'06. thanks for the help. its funny that you mentioned upstate NY. that is where my fiance and his family are from and i do absolutely love it there. the adirondacks are beautiful, and so are the lakes. i am from a town south east of houston. so its also funny that you mention humble. my uncle is a vet there and i have applied at the northeast med center there. travel nursing WAS my #1 option until they told me you have to have experience and an RN. I have no experience. i wish i did, bc that is what's keeping me from getting a good hospital type job. any suggestions on that... your other suggestions were great. figured you might could throw out a few more!! thanks!

Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!
hey. i just got a message from mimi who says she cant get a job in the hospital bc she lacks experience. i just wanted to let her know, there are YOUNGER girls out there who are in the exact same boat she is in. I just grad in August 06 from LVN school and i can not get a job. i have not even got a single interview due to not having hospital experience. how do u get experience if no one in the hospital system will hire you. i am at wits ends. i am an adrenaline junky who loves ED, ICU, L&D. I cant work any of those floors until I get my RN which is why I am going back to school. my recent bad luck as an lvn has also made me realize that continuing my education is a good idea. i have taken a job with a member of my church as a sitter with an elderly disabled man. i will feed him and do some ROM exercises three days a week. is this what i spent 2 years of school for. i could have done this job with just my CNA! help, I am very frustrated and disappointed. any advice!!!!!

Roll Call, LPN to RN Students!!!
Hi. Kristy here. I just graduated nursing school and I am waiting to take my state boards (LPN, LVN). My next step is to MOVE, ANYWHERE. I can literally throw a dart at the map and call it my home. I have no kids and my fiance is stationed with the airforce and moves all year long. So basically, I am asking those of you who are out there, where should I go. I want to continue and get my RN, so it's up to yall to help me decide where. Any and ALL advice, and or comments would be appreciated. I am stressing over this and can't make up my mind, so please HELP!!!! Thanks and God Bless.
