Run out of nursing school - what to do?
Lol!! Superiors!!! Thats the problem right there we were all created equal, some people chose to be beneath others. Why would anyone bow out gracefully knowing that there right. Your mentality is the same reason why nurses have no power, b/c they have that servant mentality.

Run out of nursing school - what to do?
I swear the responses I see on this board are making me sick!!! To the nurses who say quit, run out, do not pass go, are coawards and are part of the reason why nurses are so disrespected!! I went through a harder time that 99% of the people here. I had to speak in front of the the president of the university and the board of trustees. I had a teacher fail me because she didnt like me. After I fought and won I was treated like a GOD by the teaching staff including the dean! Teachers and students congratulated me on my perseverance. If you quit in your last or even first semester b/c of a teacher they were most likely right. You nurses who said quit and start over again are the type of nurses that get stepped on everyday at work. RESPECT for yourself means standing up for your rights in any situation no matter how tough! This is why we need more men in nursing!:angryfire

Nursing & website is depressing!!!
i've noticed a trend on this board. nurses on this board dont like being nurses and it is very sad and discouraging. everyday i check out this board to see what people are talking about. there are always threads about "quitting 4 months into nursing, why are they all leaving, what career would you have chosen if you werent a nurse, help new job and miserable already, anyone quit a job to go into nursing and then regretted making the decision, etc, etc, etc. i read these threads and it makes me very scared about the future of nursing. something has to be done!! i've been a nurse for 8 months. and im starting to feel the same way. when people say wow you have your bsn. i think to myself who cares, nurses get treated like crap. today i had to call about 8 different doctors, a dialysis nurse, case manager who had no clue what to do, and inform them on the care of the patient. this is why so many people leave nursing. i hate having to say "im going back to school next year to be a crna or maybe med school" depending on how i feel. why do we get treated soooo bad. another thing im upset about. i wasnt suppose to work today. management begged me to come in on my b-day to work only a half day and another nurse would do 1p -7p. you guessed it at 1 pm there was no nurse to relieve me. i stayed until 7 pm on my b-day when i wasnt even suppose to come in. management all of a sudden couldnt be reached! i felt so used and disrepected. has this ever happen to anyone. oh yeah the nurse who was scheduled to finish the day was still on orientation and couldnt come in. what should i do about this situation?????

What are your weaknesses?
- Are you burned out?
my feet hurt. but when i have a stressful day i just think to myself no one is perfect and tommorow is another day and that usually puts things into perspective. and its not the end of the world, just take a warm bath and be thankful that your alive and healthy.:wink2:- "Just" a 2-year degree
*Austin Powers shag me voice* Im a man baby!!! :trout:- "Just" a 2-year degree
I dont like loans either. Lets just say I owe around the price of a fully loaded honda accord with leather, a moonroof, and 24 hr roadside assistance. I must say the ADN to BSN route is much much cheaper. Wait a minute......... im supposed to be mad- "Just" a 2-year degree
No, thankyou. Confusios say always trust moderator with sexy name.- "Just" a 2-year degree
For the 100 of pms I have been getting. What I said in my post that was deleted had noooo curse words or anything like that. I just responded in a very defensive way to a nurse on this board. I respect ADN's, not everyone can afford or have the time to attend a 4 year program and see a 2 year as a well paying and rewarding alternative. It just gets annoying when some ADN's on the board say that and ADN program is more difficult or even compare when they have never been in a 4 year program. Im sorry if I have offended any nurses out there. I know that a degree doesnt make the person nor does it define your character. But my degree is something that I am very proud and im not afraid to show it.- "Just" a 2-year degree
inflammatory post edited out.- "Just" a 2-year degree
If it takes 2 years to grad a 2 year program, how long would it take for you to grad. a 4 year program?- "Just" a 2-year degree
Only a BSN could understand how true this is.- "Just" a 2-year degree
Thankyou very very very much. AMEN!!!!!!!!- "Just" a 2-year degree
My bad.:uhoh21:- "Just" a 2-year degree
Please inform these people. This is why nurses never shake that image of handmaidens to doctors. Its because nurses are like crabs in a barrel. Nurses respect doctors, physical therapist, resp. therapist, occupationat therapist, speech therapist but when it come to a BSN, respect just flys out the window. I think ADN on this board should applaud BSN for taking there commitment a step further. The hate that ADN'S on this board have is overwhelming and disgusting. ADN nurses dont respect BSN nurses at least the majority on this board. A little more patho, a little more pharm, some research, more indepth assesment, and community is an understatement. We take the same pharmacy classes as pharmacy students, we take the same patho and health assesment as pre med students. It gets really annoying when ADN nurses equate there degree to a BSN. We as nurses need to respect others for there achievments. My sis has her ADN nad the day she graduated she started planning to get her BSN now she is in her last semester for her BSN. My mom started off as an LPN, then got her ADN, then BSN, then MA, now she is getting her PhD. ADN are meant to get there BSN and advance.- "Just" a 2-year degree
How would you know if you only have tour ADN?- "Just" a 2-year degree
Who ever said you dont have to get up a wee hours to earn your BSN. Earning a BSN is very difficult. Probably the hardest thing I have ever done. ADN nurses will never ever ever understand how difficult a BSN program is to go through. Its funny how ADN nurses always try and compare BSN degree to a ADN. If a BSN program is sooooooooo much easier why isnt everyone a BSN? And why dont BSN go back to school and get there ADN. There is no comparison. BSN nurses took that extra step in there education and made it more than just a 2 year degree.- I am in an absolute state of panic right now... need help
What did you do maybe we can learn from this, besides the suspense is killing me!!!- What do you like most/least about being a nurse?
