  1. This is alarming... Also, when I checked their accreditation page, there's this "This program is not approved or regulated by the Texas Workforce Commission." http://www.chamberlain.edu/about-nursing/chamberlain/accreditation. What is happening...
  2. I suggest you call the NJ Board of Nursing. You don't want to waste your time, effort, and money. I hope you get a positive answer.
  3. Hi! It is safe to say the program is easy once you're done, but it is not. Most classes, if not all, are writing-intensive. I did 2 classes per session (only one class the first time so I can get used to it), and I tried to write my paper/s for one class in advance on days that I was off from work. It won't work with DeVry classes though, because you're not able to view the discussion threads/assignments in advance. I did it in 11 months; graduated last February. Good luck to everyone. You can do it, too.
  4. Chamberlain's curriculum is the most reasonable. The other schools require more classes ... I finished last week! Lunah, your posts and replies helped me a lot . Thank you.

  6. We commonly get patients s/p externalization of VPS, and never did I get any complaints of sloshing sound. I would be scared to hear it.

  8. 3000/year, if it goes over 3000, to fill-out a commitment form to stay for 6 more months. basically, 100%...
  9. Here's a comment from a resident that really ruined a nurse's day... Joy,RN (the best IVnurse in dayshift) was requested to insert an IV to a "hard-stick" pt. The resident came, and asked... "Is Linda,RN (fr. nightshift) still here?" Joy told the MD to never ask for another nurse when someone is already trying; then, walked out of the room.
  10. You just got home, tired and stressed... and here's someone who comments... "Don't you just give meds?" DUH!
  11. LunahRN, thanks a lot for the info. You have always been helpful. It's great to learn that you took Comp 100. Is it a paperwork-class again, with a huge one in the end? If not, I may decide to take it instead of Coding. I'm okay with computer. :) Keepitmoving, I am new, started in March with 1 class. This session I'm taking two. It's overwhelming because of the paperworks. Remember, each session is 8 weeks that's why lessons are all cramped up. If you decide to take two classes, be ready. It's not easy.
  12. Hello. I am done with Transitions, and half-way through Advanced Comp. and Cultural Diversity. I am in a dilemma. I want to take 2 courses each session, but confused on choosing the right classes. I am so overwhelmed this session. I knew Adv. Comp will require a lot of writings, but didn't realize that Cultural Diversity has paperwork every week (plus a huge Research paper), quizzes, and a final. I need help from a fellow Chamberlain students/graduates. Please give me your suggestion. These are the classes I have left to take. Health Assessment Community Health Collaborative Healthcare Information Systems Evidence-based Practice I think I have to take Capstone by itself. It sounds huge. I also need to take an extra 2-credit class to fill the 1 credit hour that I am missing. They suggested COMP-100 Computer Applications for Business with Lab or HIT-202 International Classification of Diseases Coding I with Lab (I'm thinking of taking Coding). Thank you in advance for your help. :)
  13. OMG! what a HUGE one!!! thanks roser... too bad can't be changed to Not.

  15. Thank you for the info, Luhah. How do we know the prereq for each class? Is it in the website? Thanks.
  16. Hi Lunah. I am currently enrolled at Chamberlain, and so far it has been great. I started with one class to get used to online learning. Beginning next semester, I am planning to take two classes. I work full time, 3-12hr shifts and once/week per diem. You are the best resource person to ask; if you don't mind... can you given me an idea on which 2 classes can be paired up? I am scared to make a mistake on choosing two writing intensive classes. Next semester, they registered me for Adv. Composition and Cultural Diversity. The rest are: Health Assesment Community Health Nsg Collaborative Healthcare Information Systems for Healthcare Evidenced-Based Practice Capstone Course Thank you in advance for your help. :)
  17. That's the kind of motivation I want to hear. Congratulations! BSN is within your reach!
  18. Have tried almost every shoe... SAS is #1 for me, but way too expensive and no online purchase. I've been using Reebok... http://www.zappos.com/reebok-lifestyle-princess-white No complaints at all.
  19. Thanks, Lunah... looking at their RN-BSN online. I am still waiting for transfer credits, and if the classes are less that the other schools I got accepted in, I'll go for Chamberlain. I read some of your posts. How was the Health Assessment class? Which classes require the most writing (I may take those classes separately)?
  20. Is there a list of states that recognize Chamberlain Sch of Nsg? If you have a link, pls. post. Thank you.
  21. thanks a lot oneDayOneDay! that information is a great help. :):)
  22. I wish you all the best... hope you find a new home.
  23. nothing against... i am foreign-born; english is not my first language, but went to nursing school here in the US. years ago, my husband (native-born) and i went out-of-state to visit a friend... stopped by a restaurant to eat. we asked for some directions, and i asked my husband if he knows where we're going. he gave me a look, and said, "i didn't understand half of what he said." the gentleman had a heavy accent, too; and an american.
  24. lasted 2 weeks in our unit; didn't work. first, they tried shift report with all MDs and RNs; time-consuming. next, RN to RN; but, an RN who gets report from 3-4 RN usually leaves the floor late.
