  9. I recently Graduated from Hohokus school In Ramsey NJ. I still cant believe its over, all the long nights of studying, the early morning clinicals. And the stress of taking HESI. It's all over. I sent out all the required paper work and paid the fee's to take nclex, so now im just waiting on a confirmation email, hopefully I dont have to wait forever. My long term plans are to enroll in EXCellsior college for my RN. then get a job in LD.
  10. Thank your for all of your information. :bowingpur
  11. I believe you misunderstood my question. My question was regarding what books I would need to study to prepare for the NC 1 theory exam.
  12. hello i know its been a while since you finished excelsior. i will be started excelsior soon and i wanted to know how much were you awarded from the scholarships.
  13. Congratulations:yeah: Im a recent graduate from Hohokus school in Ramsey NJ. IM waiting to take my state Boards and hopefully by June I can start excelsior College. Im so excited and cant wait to start. Best of luck to you:bow:
  14. That was a horrible experience, I hope you can stay strong and continue to strive for your goal as becoming a RN:bowingpur. I recently graduated:yeah: and was strongly considering Excelsior. I've heard good and bad things about the program. with my job schedule and kids. it's seems to be the best option for me. Do you have another oppurtunity to take the CPNE again? Excelsior told me you have up to three separate trials to pass.
  15. GOOD LUCK:yeah: I WENT THROUGH THE SAME EXPERIENCE A FEW YEARS AGO TRYING TO GET INTO NURSING SCHOOL. AFTER TRYING FOR MORE THAN TWO YEARS I DECIDED TO APPLY IN NJ I WAS SUCCESSFUL AND WAS ACCEPTED TO 3 NURSNG SCHOOLS. I CHOSE HOHOKUS IN RAMSEY. I JUST PASSED MY NCLEX. THE JOY I FEEL IS OVERWHELMING. ALL THE SLEEPLESS NIGHTS AND WAKING UP 4AM FOR CLINICAL WAS WELL WORTH IT. IF YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO TRAVEL TO NJ YOU SHOULD APPLY THERE SCHOOLS STARTS EVERY 3 MONTHS. ONCE AGAIN GOOD LUCK
  16. Hello Everyone, I started My LPN program Janaurary 23rd at Hohokus Ramsey. I am still very nervous of failing, I have committed myself to studying at least three hours per night. I am truly blessed, the teachers at HOhokus are excellent. What worries me mostly is failing the exams, from what I heard the questions are worded in scenerio form and most of the time tricky to understand the correct answer. Some tips I was given Is to keep it simple when answering questions most of the time its the easy solution that makes a difference and also begin thinking as a nurse which will help prepare your mind to think critically on test. I dont know how true that is however, in my studying I dont stress to much on memorization but I try to understand the concept of what Im learning.
  17. :monkeydance: Congratulations!!:yelclap:
  18. Hello Candy, I was recently accepted to Hohokus Nursing program for the spring term :balloons: :yelclap: . I am beyond excited and at the same time nervous. If possible I would like to know more about the program, what I could expect, whats the hours, did financial aid cover your entire tution.
  19. Im praying, that all goes well and I am accepted to LICHSON. I went there yesterday, they still have not found my application. I was told to come back on friday.
  20. I didnt apply to LIU, I applied to Long Island College School of nursing, however, i've heard alot of horrible things about liu Brooklyn campus. When I visited the campus, I seen some of my old classmates from BMCC and they all begged me not to go there. After I met the nursing advisor, Latisha, she was rude and abrubt I decided I didnt want to be at a school like that. Good luck to you, at Nassua Community college.
  21. Thank you Sammi, for your kind words, I've been giving great thought to my situation and I have not made a decision as of yet. I realized that nursing is very competitive and one of the main reasons i didnt apply to alot of schools is because I dont have such a great GPA, which is strongly needed to enter nursing. As of right now, im considering another career, or entering a school to solely raise my GPA or apply to an LPN program.
  22. Hello everyone,:balloons: its is refreshing to learn im not the only one struggling to get into nursing school. The past couple of weeks has been extremely stressfull for me. I made the biggest mistake by only applying to LICHSON, I recently learned that they lost my application. I've called several times only to get the run around over and over again, Finally i was told that my application was found but when I asked the director where did my two refrences come from she told me that she was not in a position to tell me. (but she told me a minute ago she was looking through my application) At this point i feel really discourage, im considering another career and maybe persuing nursing another time in my life.
