They will give you a packet detailing what needs to be done. I think I got mine during orientation. It will not hurt to renew your CPR because they will need copies anyways. Get that out of the way before school starts. Wait until they tell you what type of scrubs before buying any. congrats!! Just enjoy your time off now before school starts!

You'll be surprised by how many nurses out there in higher positions with an ADN. Is that grad program highly competitive? Does it require BSN? I would suggest applying. It doesn't hurt. Taking BSN classes and being in that program might a little too much on your plate at the same time.

I believe you did the right thing and handled it the way I would have. You called the doctor and informed him of the pts change in condition and followed his orders. Just curious was the patient with hospice care?

First of all take a deep breath. Many people test positive on their ppd test, some even due to sensitivity as well. You just have to wait until the chest X-ray results. Just make sure you have all the paperwork for your school saying its negative. If your arent actively have symptoms of TB, then youre fine. Don't get stressed out over what those nurses say. Chances are you'll never see them again.

Don't give up yet! I was on the same boat as you. I had all 265 questions on my first attempt, took 5 hrs & 40 min, & failed. But I stayed motivated and studied, I passed on the next try with 75 questions! If you read more posts on this websites, lots of people get the whole 265 questions. You're not the only one. You can do it :) Confidence!

I hope you enjoy it! :) According to the NCLEX test plan, the pharmacology portion is only 13-19% of the test. Keep in mind that portion includes "therapies" such as TPN/Central line questions too, not just meds alone. Of course you can NOT study all the medications there is. Learn the basics, such as the ending of cardiac meds "pril" "lol". I only did Trainers 1-3, my scores were lower than yours and I passed. I really think that just by doing these trainers, you're gaining more practice & that's basically what you really need. Learning the rationales on the ones you got wrong & right. I totally agree with PASSREDSKINS1. I felt like I was really improving, even though my scores weren't the highest. GOOD LUCK!

I’ll be glad to share some advice. It might be your experience of being an RN for 10 years? I read in Kaplan and Hurst that NCLEX has questions based on a “new nurse with 2 weeks of knowledge” and that you shouldn’t base the NCLEX answers on the real world. In other words, you might pick an answer that’s right because you do it every day in the hospital. But NCLEX might want different answers. If you can be a RN in Canada, you can in America too!! I really really liked Hurst online review. I didn’t want to do the classroom because they combine too much info into each day (it’s a 4 day course) & Hurst didn’t have any classes near my area. Online you get to pause and rewind the videos, because she does talk as you fill in the material in your notes & has a southern accent. I liked that method because it stuck in my head better. I got to study at my own pace. I did 2 videos a day. Hurst made me understand the material better than nursing school believe it or not haha. I also really like the practice questions they provide! SSHULER87, Thanks! What's your study plan? You do got a lot on your plate, but I can tell you have a great attitude going. Keep it up. Don't get too stressed out from that pressure. Have a set number of questions to do everyday before you're busy working. Then study when you're off. I was sick too! It was horrible trying to study haha. Yes, ANXIETY can play a huge factor. Breathe, relax, & have confidence through out this whole ordeal. Maybe you can request some time off to relax right before your test date.

Hi! I just wanna first thank everyone on this site. I have been lurking this forum since, even before I started nursing school. The information I gained from here helped me so much with everything! Hopefully my post can help many others too. First time I graduated nursing school in Dec 2010. I took a little break afterwards because you know, everyone needs a little time to relax after NURSING SCHOOL! Come on. So I scheduled my exam for March 9, after many times postponing. The night before I couldn't sleep & I got lost on the way there for almost 2 hours. I was crying sitting there on a turn signal...Got there right at 8AM! My emotions were everywhere. I tested and it went all the way to 265 questions, the whole 6 hrs. My brain was fried around question 180, with time running out so I started clicking away! Bad move. I failed with all near passing in all categories besides one below in Health Promotion. What I used: Saunders Comprehensive Review 5th edition & Lacharity PDA (I only did questions from these 2 books) Second Time I was really determined to beat this thing. I wrote "You will pass" post it notes EVERYWHERE! On my computer, on my walls, calender, just to encourage me as I was studying. I decided to buy a review course too. I did 75-100 practice questions a day, which I didn't do the first time. After my 45 days was up, I retested. I went in really relaxed. The day before I even got a hair cut & everything. After 2 hours, it shut off at 75 questions! I was freaking out now, because I went in expecting it to go to 265 questions. What I used: Hurst online review (for content), Kaplan trainers on this site, Kaplan Qbank, Exam Cram, Lacharity PDA I did the PVT trick & got the good up. Did Quick Results today & PASSED!!! Oh yeah, I just wanna say if I can do you can too. I know it sounds cliche. I was an average student in nursing school. It took me awhile to understand the processes after reading it. You just have to work harder at this. - First understand the content then PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE QUESTIONS everyday, read every rationale. - Don't go into the test thinking you're gonna fail like I did the first time. Go in there with confidence! - Read some stories on here for encouragement. I'll post some that I read. - Study the INFECTION MNEMONIC on here. - Don't expect the test to stop at 75 questions, test like you expect the whole 265. - Take breaks. Don't exhaust your self studying, it won't absorb. - I did pray. - I didn't tell alot of people my NCLEX date, just to ease the pressure off of me. If you have ANY QUESTIONS, I'll be glad to answers. I did mine 30 minutes after. I read some posts where people did right after the test in the car with their phone. I say save you the anxiety & do the trick. GOOD LUCK!

Maybe you should do it again right now. What does it say when you do it, Does it have the good pop up? When you type in the graduation info does it lead you to the credit card page?

I agree with what srangel said. You'll be fresh out of nursing school. Don't wait too long to test. Of course take a little break after you graduate, everyone needs it. You already have the needed nursing content, so practice practice practice QUESTIONS! Learn your weaknesses & why you got the questions wrong. You need to learn how to answer NCLEX type questions such as prioritization and delegation.

I'm taking it again in 2 days! So nervous, but more confident than the first time. I'm surprised your BON is taking so long. I took my last NCLEX on Mar 9. Have you tried calling them or checked the website? I remember checking like everyday to see if they received my application. I got all near passing in the categories besides one below on health promotion. One thing I've been telling myself is I have to be more confident. I wrote post it notes all over my room encouraging me. I went into my last NCLEX with a negative attitude thinking I was going to fail & I did. I cried for a few days & picked myself up. We were both really close, I believe we can do this! What's your studying plan?

Yeah I know, it's basically registering all over again. In Florida, I had to pay $200 for Pearson & to the BON for a re-examination application for $119. Once I was approved by the BON, they sent me my ATT. Good Luck!

First of all, what did you already pay for? Did you pay for Pearson Vue or to your Board of Nursing? Every state is different. I re-registered & paid for my re-exam NCLEX before I got my fail mail. But I wasn't allowed to pick a date until I got my ATT. I doubt you have to pay for it again.

I can already tell you have some fight in you! Don't lose that & don't give up yet! You can try reading the Kaplan Strategies book. I rented it at my local library. It has some really good tips on answering tricky questions. Lacharity PDA book is really good too with prioritizing questions. GOOD LUCK

I'm in the same boat as you. I did the PVT and got the bad pop up & cried myself in a little ball for about 2 weeks. Then, I got myself together & re-registered. For Florida, I had to submit a re-exam application to the BON & re-register with Pearson Vue too. Pearson Vue won't send out the ATT until the BON has reviewed my application and says I'm all clear. Then, once your 45 days is up...You can pick your NCLEX day online. Hope this helps GOOD LUCK TO YOU!
