In the surrounding counties you have a plethora of LPN-RN programs available at the CC level and Temple now has an online RN-BSN available as well. LPN-RN-BSN is a smart route for your family.

LPN school in Orlando
36k seems excessive for an LPN programme!! That's an entire year's salary unless you have 2 jobs. Orlando Tech is one option as well as a programme in Kissimmee by TECO http://www.teco.osceola.k12.fl.us/programs/health/nursing.aspx

What is ur average 2 week take home pay?
though they may be good students, a good percent of nursing students do not qualify for aid. not everyone wants to be in the military, thus negating any help from uncle. grants are only available in increments that fin aide "think" you deseve based on income or merit. some people don't qualify on income or merit. woorkstudy can be a iffy, especially if you are doing a four year degree which costs money and you're only making 5.15 to 7 p/h and can only work 20 hours max per week. which leave loans. not everyone is afforded the same opportunities to pursue their degree(s). many take different paths and one should never compare their situation with someone elses.
- Where are all you SC nurses?
