Upcoming Orientation @ WCCCD...
In all honesty, if you have to do nutrition and med-math, don't expect to have any extra time for extra lab practice. The busy work you'll have for nutrition class alone will make you feel overwhelmed. Knowing what I know right now, I would never take nutrition and med-math along with the regular nursing classes the first semester. You will be overwhelmed and I know that if you plan working along with that schedule, that is a formula that spells disaster.

upset WCCCD
Yeah, I know what you're saying. I don't plan on pursuing a BA so I plan to reach for excellence and if it looks like a C, I won't complain. After all, if you're in the program and you do your very best, you'll be alright. Tim

WCCCD micro book
If you have L. Smith, you'll be able to share your books. Micro is a very demanding subject and you'll find that you will spend much time in the textbook. Her lectures aren't the greatest. The lab text you can share with another and copy the pages you may need. I took the class last fall and came out of it with a B and I studied much. Tim

I have to wait until the end of MAY!

stethoscope question
Find the stethoscope you're interested in and then check out ebay. I just bought a Littman cheaper than anyplace else there.

Phlebotomy
350.00 is dirt cheap. There is a phlebotomy school in Allen Park and they charge 800.00. I don't think you will find it cheaper elsewhere.

Info about Parkland
Since I've read much about Group One in Dallas and I am thinking about moving there, I was wondering if Parkland was affiliated with this group. Anybody give me some info? Thanks!

Any current WCCC students or graduates?
I think the cutoff date for the fall semester is April 28. To apply you must have all your pre-reqs finished when you turn in your application. Once again, it is mandatory to attend the informational meeting for entry into the nursing program. Any questions you may have will be answered there. Tim

Need help finding very entry level employment.
Wow, things sure can be misunderstood! I'd like a job in the healthcare field rather than driving because I want to start learning in the field that I am going to. Secondly, I have a CDL class B license. That means that I can drive a straight truck or bus but not a semi. Driving is mundane to me. I didn't state that it was mundane in general. I make 12.00/hr with 32.5 hrs a wk. They are cutting my hrs back to 25. I am tired of my situatin and I would like to have a job that would enable me to travel to fulfill my ministry (I am a Christian). Driving will not do that but nursing will. Therefore, I want to enter the field that I am going to invest the rest of my life in.

Need help finding very entry level employment.
"I've got an odd point of view because I'm a nurse working for a state dept. of transportation....but school bus drivers? are like gold in my state. Have you tried another driving gig?" Too hard to get into most school districts as school bus driver due to unions and low hrs. I love to use my mind. Driving a bus/truck is pretty mundane work. Also, nursing offers me the ability to go anywhere for a job. Too many benefits in nursing that one cannot find in transportation.

Need help finding very entry level employment.
Since this site has an abundance of information, I thought I'd post here and try to obtain some answers. I presently drive a schoolbus for a living. I just finished my pre-reqs and plan to be in a nursing program this fall. I would like to find a job working in the healthcare field due to the fact that there has been a cutback on my job and I've lost a considerable amount of money weekly and I can see the handwriting on the wall. I'd love to find work where I'll be learning and preparing to enter the nursing field. Anyone have any ideas?

Any current WCCC students or graduates?
It would be in your best interest to go to an informational meeting at the Northwest campus. It's on either a Tuesday or Wednesday night and they will be able to answer most of your questions there. You can get more info about the meeting by calling the nursing program at the Northwest campus. If you do decide to attend WCCC, you will have to attend an informational meeting anyway. It is mandatory for entrance into the nursing program there. Tim

I'm sorry and I am praying for you. When it is all over, this will be one more thing that you overcame on your way to becoming a nurse. Tim

The LORD has done it for me
All things good come from the Father of lights in whom there is no variableness nor shadow of turning! Congratulations! Pray as if it all depends on God and work as if it all depends on you!:biggringi:D

What are you sacrificing to go nursing school?
I have chosen to remain single and stay out any kind of relationship until I finish the nursing program.

Micro and A&P???
Anything is possible but I'm taking Micro right now and it's tougher than either A&P 1 or 2. Micro is dealing with terms you have never heard of before and it is very detailed. A&P 1 you are familiar with the body so it is easier though still tough. Good luck.

z-coil shoes, foot pain gone
Expensive, ugly and I could not do my job without these shoes. I have OA in my knees, and after two 12 hr shifts would spend the next day with legs elevated and ice packs on my knees. What's OA and they really make a difference in your knees?
