Is it possible to have such a passion to Oncology??
Absolutely! I never thought I would like oncology when I started nursing school, then I got a taste of it! I love it. I completed my professional residency in oncology this summer and have just started my internship. If it is something you are passionate about, you will look forward to going in to work each day. Our patients give me so much in return for the care I give them. It's a win-win situation.

Clinials & Nurses
I know this must be frustrating for you, but go into each clinical day with an open mind, open heart, and know that it is not you. Sometimes it's just the mix of nurses on a particular floor and the dynamic they have working together. I have seen an entire floor's attitude change with the addition/deletion of just one nurse. It's sad that one person can change things, but it does happen. Go in to each day interested in what you are doing (or at least act like it). Sometimes, at the most unexpected moment, the tide will turn. Good luck.

Hit all time low
I wish there was something that I could say that would make this better for you, but, unfortunately, there's not. Please know that you are not alone. I have done this dance with my husband for 16 years, of which the last 8 have been medicated (the mantra at our house is better living through modern chemistry). We are fortunate that our GP realized it was beyond his scope of practice and called in the experts for him. Just know that you are being proactive in getting treatment. Kudos to you for being so brave!

TCU Accelerated BSN
To answer your questions: Any place close to TCU will be good! Classes start on Monday the 14th. Rest up, have a good weekend. We'll see you this afternoon at the lunch & I'll have a few treats to pass along from our class to yours! I just got a copy of your summer classes from Sue yesterday and we will be able to provide a little information for you.

TCU Anybody???
Your 3.5 should be fine. I am finishing up the ABT program right now. I went in with a 3.85, but know that others had lower GPAs. Keep in mind that your GPA is important, but so are your scores on the NET, entrance essays, etc. Best of luck!

Newbie here!
I'm at TCU right now in the ABT program. If you take your pre-reqs there, you are automatically in the nursing program as long as you have the grade. Good luck

I failed the NET...................................
Hey Princess74 - The NET Study Guide is exactly the same as the test. I couldn't believe that itwas down to the same number of each type of questions for the math portion. Take the 2 practice tests, check answers, and don't freak out. I began to panic during the test when I couldn't remember (get this) how to divide and get the remainder. A very easy thing to do, but sometimes we get so caught up in the anxiety that we forget that we know it. If you can't get an answer, move on to the next question. I promise getting one right will give you the confidence you need to keep going. Best of Luck to you.

I failed the NET...................................
Just go through the study guide a million times. They are exactly alike. I used to freak out when I took calculus. My husband advised me to drink a beer.... It turned out, all I needed was to relax. This has worked for me ever since. Stick with it. YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Who all is waiting??
I think the postman hurries past my house now since I either seem to be "playing" outside with my 3 yr old, or sitting at the front of the house. Maybe the selection committees should think about sending out Xanax with every completed app they receive???

NET Study guide measure up?
I took the NET in December. I thought the the math portion was exactly like the study guide. The reading comprehension was much harder on the test than in the study guide. I guess it was the luck of the draw for me. Pay very careful attention to the tips on reading comprehension. I wished I had. Good luck!

anyone waiting to hear from TCU- accelerated BSN program?
I was premed too, back in the day... My BS is in biology, not the smartest thing I ever did, but I was idealistic at the time. When I talked to Sue, it did not seem to matter that I was currently enrolled in the classes, just that they are on the application and the app is complete (yes, I did make her confirm it for me:lol2: !) I wouldn't worry about the two classes you're taking now.
