  1. Hi, First thank you for your question; I am in the same dilemma. I took the test and failed a year ago and put NLCEX on the back burner when my husband battling CA. Now, today specifically, I took the courage to try and register for a retest. I'm applying for BON Hawaii and don't know what and where to start. I had an agency , while I was still in the Philippines, did the processing for me. Like you, my result did not specify for reapplication. I read somewhere that for Hawaii, you go ahead and fill in request at Pearsonvue. I thought of doing this today. And like you, I'm stuck with that to put on that program code. What did you use? I finished my BSNursing degree in the Philippines. Be so grateful if you could help. Thank you.
  2. I'm looking for the right state to get an initial license. I'm eyeing for TEXAS or HAWAII. I wish none of those requires CGFNS. Also, I've started preparing for NCLEX and IELTS on my own, but I'm thinking of availing a help through structured review guide, maybe a review center. Being a full time Mom, I really want something that would allow me to study at home. I'm not sure if arrangement exist though
  3. Thank you !!! It's exhilarating mostly because I did self review.
  4. I agree with badminton, PRC should be TRANSPARENT. This may come out as a bit harsh to non- Filipinos reading this post, but being in this country since birth, one gets the acquired taste of being a pessimist. I don't have full confidence with NBI. Only with complete transparency and constant vigilance of the Nursing group, one can hope to have justice in this scandal. ...just my thought...
  5. In addendum; this goes beyond the personal aspiration of wanting to pass and work in the US now. Our country has this pride of producing GOOD nurses, let's protect that reputation. Why... I don't want to to be a part of a batch that passed due to some leakage. And my opinion, if the Philippines pursue on lobbying for NCLEX to be conducted here in PI; PRC, BON and all whole nursing sector should just bite the bullet and give re-test... at least, it would save face and proves that we don't condone cheating but rather do whatever it cost to rectify a wrongful act.
  6. What do you mean by saying: it's not knowledge they are sharing but a leakage ! They obviously know it's wrong to do so. But why did they perpetuate it ? And what kind of "hope" is it, when it's ill goten and downright CHEATING ! it does not make sense... it's soooo wrong ! And hard it maybe, I am for re-test ! Why ? Though I did not partake of the leakage nor join a formal review, i want to have that security that quality of nurses our country is producing.
  7. I feel sick ... We nurses , local and foreign, should be vigilant on this issue and ensure that whoever are the parties to this scandal should be punished. What a shame !
  8. Congratulations !!!!
  9. 'ya know... by the time the result would come out; people might have gain so much weight or the opposite... what a health hazzard !
  10. For the reviewers; Mosby, Lippincot, NSA, and series of "Incredibly Made Easy book by Lippincot,a borrowed CG guide and Saunders. And I got lots of my textbooks... and that Manual of Nursing Practice ! gosh...I just realized, too much to do and yet here I am searching for news online and craving for ice cream...hehehe...
  11. lol... you got me giggling here, Pink-- something I needed so much, right about now. Thank you ! Yeah, that would be an interesting twist to all of this. A reason why the more I think that we should at least wait for the result. Then again, if indeed they have a solid proof of the allegation; it would take out the impact. As days go by, I'm taking this whole " leakage and mobilization " issue as a double edge sword. At one end, I am glad that this 91 got the audacity to stand up fight this cause. It shows critical awareness and courage. This somehow shows that the nursing sector in the Philippinse have the backbone to stand and fight for what is not fair. If the local news is true that they have indeed mobilized as far as the congress to investigate the issue-- well and good, and kudos in the name of good governance and accountability in the profession. The other edge, is the self centered motivation. The part where I wish, that somehow they should at least wait for the result to come out. Being one of those thousands who took the exam, the anxiety and wanting to know how I fared the exam won't just let me sleep. ... if only PRC or BoN would come up with a current press release to let the public know of what has been done. It would really help...
  12. In lieu of moping and getting more anxious for the result; I'm thinking of reviewing for CGFNS... I have bought almost ALL of the review books but so lost on where to start... anybody got an idea ?
  13. ...and thank you for the link, Shenling.
  14. I'm with everyone in this agony of waiting for the result but I'm taking the postings with a grain of salt. It does not help much if we get so defensive here, let's just be calm and keep our faith in the BoN. Unless, there is an official press release from, let's give them all the benefit of doubt. And in fairness, maybe I have missed it, is there a post here accussing ALL those who underwent review at Gapuz as cheaters ? Hearsay and all, what was mentioned was that only a few got a hold of that " leakage" -- even this has to be proven-- Now not unless, like those High scoring medical grads, one gets 100% in test V and IV, let's us see the scores first before we react and get drastically gaga over this whole thing.
  15. Thanks for the info, slickiebiggie. I hope that in all fairness and call for justice, someone will take the issue seriously and apprehend the culprit. It's utterly unfair to the rest of us who burned candles and toil hard to make it through the licensing exam. ...still no result of the NLE or a current press release from the PRC or BoN
  16. Hi, I'm from Cebu and currently waiting for the result of the June 11-12 NLE. I started chewing NSA , but I was told that not unless one has passed the local, she can't move for CGFNS..well, of course, less the studying part.
  17. Hi Shenling ! Thanks for posting this update. For us who does not have the time to search news; what you've done here is greatly appreciated. At least, now we know what's going on.
  18. Through the search engine... You see, Nursing is my second, wait..errr third course. I'm a registered Social Worker and have gone to Law School. And the day after getting my LLB certificate, my husband said, " Let's go back to the USA". Having finished all my studies from Southeast Asia, I wasn't sure if any of those would suffice and support for that "big decision". Then nursing studies came into my mind. On my last term in nursing school, I went googling for nursing forums. And Allnurses.com was the best ( and still is ) so far that I've encountered. Most of the time, I'm just lurking around the post and silently admiring how well this site is organized. Kudos to the staff and maker of this site. Aloha !
  19. 'heard it will be released on July 2. Let's just keep checking the papers.
  20. hmmm....I'm still waiting for the result of my local exam but got this plan of getting CGFNS and NCLEX right away... thanks for the info shared here; a good lead. Kudos !
  21. ...wanted to drop some THANKS, Lawrence just what I needed.
  22. Thanks to the originator of this thread..and to the good inputs; I'll go check the recommended book
  23. Wow... good thing I took the chance of checking this site today... I too, took the exam last June 11-12. And it's true, Psych is the easiest. (No, I'm not a Gapuz reviewee. I did self review. ) But I have read his book on the subject, and indeed it has helped me a lot ! My first reaction upon seing the NP V test paper; was indeed, Gapuz reviewee would find the test easy. Then again, if you go back to the previews board exams, most of those test question are recycled. I trust the integrity of the BON, they maybe a little inefficient in dealing with some aspects; but I believe most of it was due to the sheer volume of the examinees. 'hope the result would come out soon...
