  3. Hi there, There are so many online MSN- NP programs. I am also near Dallas,TX and started MSN NP program online (Parttime) at Purdue University Calumet, Indiana because I did my BSN from there. So it depends what and where you want to do? There is one here in UT Tyler too. Just inquire around, you will be able to find one that fits best for you. Good luck. Here is the web site for Purdue www.calumet.purdue.edu and you can call or e mail them for more info if you want to.

  5. Hello Everybody , Can Anybody help me or give me some idea for the assignment I have to do for my nursing class of chronic health: It is Select a medium related to either aging, persons living with disabilities and/or chronic illness and have to present it within a discussion forum. The suggested media are greeting cards, article from a news paper or lay magazine ,art form of a painting, sculpture etc. or a movie/documentary . the questions to be answered are; 1) What made you select the particular medium? 2) What influences might this medium have on society's attitude toward aging, persons with disability and or chronic illness? 3) what do you want your classmates to learn from your selection? 4) What did you learn from this assignment and how can you apply this learning to your professional practice? This assignment is due in two weeks please post your suggestions ASAP. Thank you all. Karnavati

Hi, It is very great that you are planning to do that. i have my niece in pre med and she is doing BS in biology and taking MCAT to gether. She was saying that the chances are very less that you could get into med school after another medical field degree ( RN for eg.) , as they see that you are already trained for one thing in med field and you are wasting one seat for them. Good luck to you and I hope things work out for you. Check in with your med school advisor. Karnavati
  7. hi I work in out pt surgery and we get the consents signed for all the pts and the pts come in from docters office with procedure explained ,but there are so many pts that have no clue about what the docter is going to do for them? Some open heart pts do not know what is open heart surgery and they just say that the doc is going to fix their heart ,but still we try to explain them and try to get the docter pre op if they are available.

  10. hi all, I am a new nurse too .but I think IV starting comes with the practice and more you do more you get comfirtable with.I never hurd of using BP cuff inatead of turniquette. ..but sounds like a good trick. One more question as we are talking about IV's : I am doing my BSN and my topic of research is : IS there a difference in the number of intravenous attempts in patients who are served by a dedicated IV team compared to patients who are not served by a dedicated iv team? I have been trying to find an article or reserch paper about this but all I am finding is Iv sticks to the nurses or health care workers , if somebody in the Iv team or come across some related articles please send it to me I would appriciate it. karnavati.
