WGU starting tomorrow!
Is all the required reading really necessary? It seems to be a bit much for the project. What do you think?

WGU starting tomorrow!
I'm a little late to the party, but I made it . I started on 9/1/11 but was a few days late due to the storms out east, and also due to my own stupidity. I think I'm up and going now. EWB done, beginning NUT1 today. Anyone finish it and/or have any advice? Like most here I'm hoping to finish in 1 semester, fingers crossed. Thanks for any help and I look forward to us all making it through.

Medication administration in deltoid muscle
I checked a reference book I have and it states for the deltoid IM injection: 0.5-1ml is the usual amount, while maximum is 2ml. You also have to take the size of the person into the equation. For an average sized person I would have done the same as you did.

GN starting rate?
Northridge Hospital in Northridge CA is $35.55

Any RNs from Ventura County?
Northridge does, I work there. Simi and Los Robles do to from what I've heard. I think it's just tough due to the economy and many hospitals not wanting to pay to train a large quantity of new grads.

Name the hospital and its Starting Salary!!!
I work at Northridge Hospital in Northridge CA and make $36.62 days, with 1 yr exp. A friend of mine just got hired at Los Robles Regional Medical Center in Thousand Oaks CA. He said the starting salary for new grad RN is $37/hr for days. I think some of the CA salaries are with overtime and shift differential added. This skews some of the #'s. There are a few places where nurses make a lot, like SF area, but I think most others don't make $100,000 like we keep hearing.

Excelsior RN to BSN questions
Chamberlain looks interesting. You will have your BSN in only 10 months? Thats good. I noticed on their site that its about $7000 per semester. $21000 for the program, roughly?

Excelsior RN to BSN questions
Thanks for all the info. I passed my boards in Feb and now it seems like every hospital is looking for BSN grads. So now I'm looking for the fastest way to get my BSN. I only have so many packages of Top Ramen left. :)

Excelsior RN to BSN questions
Yes. Is this one class at a time at your own pace? Can you start whenever you want? I'm looking for a rather fast process, and I'm and able to put the time in. I just dont know what my expectations should be.

Excelsior RN to BSN questions
I did a search for information regarding my questions but really only found posts about their LVN to RN program. I wanted to know what the time table is on the BSN degree. Is this something that can be done in under 1 year if not working and no kids? How many tests are there? Is the program designed to provide you with a study guide, and you really pay to take the test? Thats my understanding so far. What about clinicals? I realize they arent regular clinicals, but I believe you still need to do some community health and management rotations. The California BRN doesnt honor the RN from EC, but has anyone heard anything about the BSN? I contacted them (CBRN) and have yet to hear back. Thanks for any assistance you can provide. Dave

-
Wow- this is really funny.
So your saying all male nurses aren't gay?
-
Would it be best to go for the BSN or ADN in my situation?
Do the BSN. The job market has changed so you need to position yourself to succeed.
-
Question for ALL Nurses!!!
Go straight for the BSN. The job market has changed so do what you need to put yourself in a good position.
-
What do you think about waiting list?
I waited 1 1/2 years to get in and it sucked to wait. Just consider it part of the necessary process. So do you move up if your not chosen this semester? I would hope so.
