Split specimen TPAPN
I had two samples collected incorrectly in TPAPN and my case manager said it was on them and wouldn't negatively affect me.

Finding Work on a Clean License
Do you have to disclose that you're in the program in the first place? I'm guessing your employer has to do evals? If you have to tell them you're in a program, I would disclose why. If you can just not tell them in the first place, I would do that.

Anyone allowed to stay on pain management on TPAPN?
I absolutely agree with you that it is not the norm. But it can happen. I was disagreeing with you stating, "It's not going to happen. You will be required to stop taking it". You are speaking in absolutes and while it may not be probable, it is possible that she will be allowed to stay on them.

Anyone allowed to stay on pain management on TPAPN?
You really shouldn't speak on things that you know no nothing about. OP-feel free to PM me. I, too, was worried about starting TPAPN d/t being in pain management as everything I found online said I wouldn't be to do both. TPAPN was more than reasonable and never gave me a hard time about my meds or asked me to taper off of them. I was on a few things a lot stronger than hydrocodone but it was a non-issue. They didn't even ask for extra documentation, I just filled out my Quarterly Med Rec and an additional one if something changed before then.

Lyrica, Neurontin, Antihistamines will get you in trouble
my program made it very clear that we weren't to take anything without a script. ?♀️

Affinity Testing Process
Most labs have normal 8-5 hours but you can usually pay more and go to an urgent care!

Texas BON Steps
The waiting is the worst part! I think it was about 6 months from the time I was reported to the time the BON reached out. I self enrolled in TPAPN (or was voluntold by my lawyer ?) so I had already been in TPAPN for a few months when the BON contacted me. They basically just said I had to do TPAPN so I was glad I started before they contacted me! Since it is your first offense, you should be able to have it be confidential (ie off your license once you successfully complete it). Hang in there!

Recov Trek/Affinity Test Codes Mean Nothing
Mine never did, but I'm sure if varies by program/CM?
-
Pre-employment THC
Yeah but why would she be negative? It sounds like this just happened if the MRO hasn't called her (which honestly, not sure if they would or not since it isn't federally legal ie they won't care if she has a medical card, etc)

Pre-employment THC
How is another positive urine/nail/hair test going to help her.....

Stipulations
Did you have a question or no LOL

Kentucky Board KARE
Probably not unless you are truly innocent. I was not. LOL He was "only" like $3,000 though and handled all communication with the board so unsure if he did more behind the scenes than I thought he did. I do think the outcome would have been the same with or without a lawyer though.

Completed VA HPMP... Have Questions? Let me know!
What's worse is the lab resulting it as positive on Christmas Eve but your CM being off until the day after Christmas and being unable to review it/change it to "prescription positive". Longest Christmas of my life.?
-
Kentucky Board KARE
I feel like it went pretty quick (a week or two) for me? My lawyer actually had me fill out the fit to work thing before I entered the program so my license was suspended for like 3 hours LOL I will say they gave no warning, just sent me an email saying I was no longer allowed to practice until I submitted the eval so if it is possible for you to get that done ASAP I would. Then you can either submit it before they ask or wait until they do but at least it will be ready! They changed my license to active again within an hour or so of me submitting the paperwork.

Open formal complaint, Michigan questions
Probably varies by state and case but my evaluator actually painted me in a much better light than I would have & recommended 2 years and I got 3 which was the max at the time (I believe it is 5 years now in my state too). My lawyer said I would get 3 years regardless of what the evaluator said and he was right.

Open formal complaint, Michigan questions
Agree with all of this. I waited almost 2 years to enroll and I so wish I would have started ASAP. Partially because I would have been done earlier and partially because I managed to get into more trouble during the wait. ?♀️I did have a lawyer and still ended up with the same outcome. You might actually have an easier time finding a job once you enroll because then their ensured you have someone else watching you/accountability and the rules are all spelled out-no wondering if you might have this stipulation or that stipulation that they may or may not be able to accommodate. Hang in there!

Texas Probation
I'm surprised you got the plasma job, my CM rejected it when I was in monitoring ? Where in Texas are you?
-
TPAPN but live and work in OK
This, you had 60 days to change your primary state of residence once you moved. Here is a link. I imagine you'd just change your residency and do Oklahoma's program, but I'm not sure. https://nursecompact.com/files/60_day_rule_faqs.pdf

Needing surgery in Recovery
Probably varies by state but it was a non-issue for me. I didn't tell them I had surgery until after (although I think I was supposed to tell them before) and just sent them the anesthesia record and pain med prescriptions.
-
Spectrum Compliance/Affinity
Option 2 & 3 where always negative (not prescription positive) for me and I was on quite a few prescriptions that usually showed up. I think one may be just etg but I don't remember why I think that?
-
Are you allowed controlled medications while you work?
I am in Texas & I was allowed multiple controlled substances while working/in monitoring.
-
Last 8 weeks testing
that is a little insane LOL what state, if you don't mind sharing?
-
Abuse of prescribed med
That sounds like it would be somewhat hard to prove? although I guess you could be prescribed pain medicine and be impaired at work. I'm more hung up on the "misuse" part.
-
Does probation always mean nurse license suspension?
I was on probation and he did advise me to self enroll but I did not (and then was board ordered to enroll).
-
APRN seeking employment after being reported to NPDB for substance use disorder
It is not, it is in Texas ? but feel free to PM me if you want any other info!
