Keeping current job after case with the nursing board is started
I received a letter from the BON investigator about a month after I was fired for diverting. I knew I would be put on probation once my consent order was docketed, that process took just over a year. I got a job in dialysis while my license was still clear, before I got put on probation. I told them my situation at the end of the interview. I've been there for a year now, they work with on my weekly meetings & random drug tests.

Potential jobs during monitoring
I work in dialysis too, it's not bad but I probably wouldn't be doing it if I wasn't in monitoring. It's hard work & the hours are challenging. I do like my boss & co-workers & the patients, but my back & feet hurt all the time & we're always short staffed so the schedule is crazy. I also had to take a pretty big pay cut from what I was making at the hospital. A few nurses in my weekly meetings work in behavioral health, one works at a prison & another is a hospice liaison but she doesn't go in to homes.

Soy Sauce
I ate sushi a week ago & had soy sauce with it. I didn't even think about it until I got selected to test today. It wasn't much but of course now I'm worried. I read all salad dressing labels to make sure there's no red wine vinegar, I stay away from vanilla extract & cake icing, I don't use hand sanitizer at work on the days I test. I'm careful but the soy sauce didn't even cross my mind at the time ?. Any thoughts or experience?

NPDB report
I got a notification around the time my consent order was docketed & complete. When I login to the NPDB it has my violation, probation & consent order.

Diversion
There are 2 nurses in my weekly group meeting who are in monitoring for their second time. I'm in GA.

Test results
I'm in Affinity monitoring in Ga, I had a random UDS on 11/06 & my results haven't posted yet. They're usually back in 2-3 days. I know I don't have anything to worry about but of course it's making me anxious. Has anyone else had it take this long? Thanks!!

SNF vs dialysis
I started at Fresenius about 5 months ago after losing my job at the hospital. I did not have dialysis experience & it was a challenge at first but now I love it. They work with me for my weekly meetings & random drug screens. Hours are early but now I can't see myself ever going back to bedside nursing.

Dialysis jobs have been a dead end, what am I missing?
I had a hard time as well, ICU/med surg for 20 yrs. No luck with case mgmt, Picc team, LTAC, endo clinic where the nurses don't give any meds... I finally gave up on Davita but got hired with Fresenius. I applied through their direct website & did not disclose my probation/monitoring until the end of the interview. I have to travel about an hour from home & took a $9.00/hr pay cut but at least I have a job. They work with me for my meetings & drug testing. My supervisor is a nurse but in some clinics they have facility administrator who is not a RN. It's very discouraging at first but keep trying, you will find something & you will get through this.

Is consent order permanent on your license
I'm waiting to get my consent order, I'm in Ga & it's public. Does anyone know if it stays on your license forever? Or is it removed once you complete probation? Thanks!!

Required Course for BON
Has anyone had to take a course in Understanding the Disease of Addiction for the GA BON? Is it online or in person? What is the schedule? How much is it? Also what do "standard work restrictions" include? And what is "SAS"? I'll be getting my consent order soon & from what I've read on other consent orders both will be included on mine... along with narc restriction, fine, drug testing (I'm already in the GNA-PAP) & have already had a MPE. Thanks!!
