  1. Sorry, I thought I responded. It went okay. It was still noncompliance since there was a few days that my prescription verification lapsed but I should be fine as ling as I don't do it again.
  2. I received a letter today about testing positive for a substance that I am prescribed. I am assuming that they did not have a current prescription verification form and or a current continuing need of prescription that is required quarterly. I was told that I was sent this by my physician but I failed to double check with the board and thats my fault. So now I am noncompliant with my agreement and I guess showing a positive drug screen now. Im terrified what this means. It will be several hours before I have the change to call and find out whats going on.
  3. Hi! Im a new grad RN who self reported on my state boards about previous substance abuse treatment. I entered our monitoring program instead of being investigated and have been monitored for close to a year now. I have just now started looking for a job, found one I really want to work and was extended an offer that I accepted. I mentioned on my application that I had a controlled substance restriction for 6 months under my monitoring contract and made the manager aware of my agreement and past history. I was progressing through the hiring process and about to submit to the background check when the recruiter needed to get his legal department involved and I mentioned sharing my order of agreement again (as I was told to do) and sent it his way. Im not surprised that the legal department is involved and I answered all the questions they asked and provided reasoning why I was in the VDAP program. I just got off the phone with them and it seems like they are going to make a decision if they are going to continue with the offer they made me or retract it based on the info I provided and the contract I sent. I feel like I did everything I was supposed to and they still seemed blindsided. This hospital is known for being very accommodating to nurses with substance abuse hx and I don't know if its just a new recruiter or what but I still feel like I did something wrong. I really loved the unit and Im afraid of not getting hired on now.
  4. Where I am at you get a letter in the mail saying you are being investigated. Then a few weeks later they offer you to joining the monitoring program or being investigated ( we have one week to decide if we would like to go monitoring route or investigation route). If you are found out to needing treatment for substance abuse through their investigation then you are ineligible to join monitoring. I've found out through other nurses is my support group that if this happens you will be on probation versus monitoring. I know my states BON has the info on both programs on the website. Maybe you can check.
  5. State: Alabama Name: VDAP Duration: 3 years - 5 years Cost range: At least $1000 per year to BON plus Evaluations and drug test costs License restrictions: Narcotics restriction for minimum 6 months and any restrictions given during eval Confidentiality: Strict (information not available on public domain) Disclosure to employers Toxicology Testing: Affinity eHealth/Spectrum
  6. Im on VDAP. I think here if you refuse and proceed the investigation route and they determine you do need monitoring you can not enter vdap but from what I understand you can enter probation which I think you stay suspended for a determined amount of time until certain defined obligations are met if investigation deems you do need some type of agreement. ABON are all laywers now and it can be frustrating to deal with them but not impossible.
  7. I don't even have the option to select tests, only have a drop down that says check-in.
  8. I got ya! I was under the same assumption of them being able to test for anything. Like why would they test my blood for an antibiotic but still scared to take it without it being on my verification sheet
  9. Hi! I was reading others posts and seeing where people see their pending tests, or wondering about when they would get results. Do yall get to see stuff about your tests? we don't. Also does anyone know whats on any of the panels. Quest does my testing if its urine I believe. I get option 2 and 9 mostly
  10. Yep thats what I was referring to! I get nervous about popping a false positive for mdma but just like my boyfriend says you cant really pop positive on lab tests which I think the majority are. Kava is an ingredient and so many things like yogi tea for example. thanks for the response!
  11. No, I don't meet with one through the board but I do on my own. Im in Alabama
  12. I didn't, I really didn't even consider it. I figured they would refer me to affinity. I never get a real response from them. It always seems like a pre typed message
  13. Hi, I was wondering of anyone had drank Kava while testing. It's something I really enjoy but figured it wasn't worth the risk so I quit when I began testing. I've wondered if there was a way to go about asking but many don't really know anything about kava. Anyone have any experience?
