No longer conducting drug tests
Oh wow I didn't realize how common it was , every job I've ever had dating back millions of years I was drug tested before the official hire. I thought it was outrageous!

No longer conducting drug tests
I just felt like sharing , the facility I work for has recently started a new employee benefit where if we recruit someone we get a raise and get this..... the drug testing will no longer be a requirement and when asked why the boss said " because there's a shortage of nurses and it discourages people from applying " how many nurses are actually on drugs !!???!?!?!

Nursing School Essentials
Start studying and practicing math dosage calculations right now! Don't wait, if you get less than a 90% or in some schools less than 100% your kicked out. agree they are just time wasters, and the wrong information tends to get passed around and the majority always wins even though they are wrong. Hard pass

Advocating for a grade appeal for myself and other students. Do we stand a chance?
Probably best to let it go, they are going to stick together and be against you guys. That’s usually how it goes, unless you have solid evidence of something.

I used to be like this.......What you need to do is seriously critique yourself. This can be hard but, try to compare your previous notes to the past exam. Did you write and study the same things? Or were they different? For example did you focus heavily on physiology when the test was actually heavy on nursing interventions? Did you not pay enough attention to the medicines? Did you leave out S/S? Next, if your close to somebody in your program(ideally an A+ student) ask if you can see their previous notes for a past exam. What did they write? What did they study? Also TIME. Time is very important you can't master something unless you put in the time. Im going to share with you what I do to study. First I print out the slides, then I record the lectures, then I write little notes here and there on to the slides. Then I read/skim the assigned reading and write down what I think is important, I use different colored pens to help me find information. I write all the drugs on index cards and a detailed note about them on the other side. Then I get my laptop and start combining everything into one big giant study guide. For example: Hemophilia- I write the description of what it is, how one gets it, the S/S, how we diagnose, how we treat, nursing interventions, the drugs that we use to treat this disease, all in extreme detail. I do this with every single topic/disease that we are studying. I usually end up with about 10 pages, I print it out and read it outloud to myself. It sounds nuts but this works for me. I started out a 70s student and now I score 92-97 on every exam. It takes a lot of time but that is what is required for me. You only have one more semester you can do this!

Cheating Classmates
Yup the one girl that went to the school in NJ, has been a nurse already for almost ten years works in L&D . No idea about the other students
-
Cheating Classmates
I know a girl who went to a prestigious school in NJ , paid 100,000 to attend became a nurse. She told me that all the students including her had all the answers to every single test, exam and quiz and she sold them adrenal pills for the answers. The entire class cheated on every single exam. Another girl told me that her instructors are so old they don't understand simple technology, with covid they were allowed to take exams st home with no camera no monitoring nothing. She said none of them even study. Where are these students even getting the answers from? And why on earth would they trust you enough to send that ?!

Would love some input.. take LVN boards or??
I like it you can get into many different things, im in a step up program now only one more semester left. Having the lVN license helped me to get in the RN program quicker, plus I only have to do one year. And depending on what state you live in they even have LVN-BSN.

Do the LVN boards first that way you can bridge to RN in only one year instead of the full 2 years. It might also help you point wise.
