  1. Better question is how many courses have you already taken at this program? If you are just starting, and have an opportunity to go somewhere else, I would say do the switch. If you get all C’s, you won’t make it far enough into any application process to even explain your situation.
  2. That would make 3 of us! I got a call yesterday and an email this afternoon
  3. Thanks David! Hopefully you get one as well!
  4. I got an email today for an interview invite
  5. Good Luck. I have worked for multiple hospitals and it really does vary. Some facilities utilize interpreter services so they don’t pay employees extra. Other facilities try to utilize their own staff so they offer incentive pay to fluent Spanish speakers. I would say you have a 50-50 shot at getting the extra pay. It varies from 50 cents to $2 /hr. From my experience, you have to take a basic test or have proof of completion of a Spanish medical terminology course.
  6. Hmm. Good point on MLK day. Either way I will be waiting on pins and needles. Good luck everyone
  7. Wow they already had interviews? That means people must have been notified at least a month ago. Kaiser had over 2000 applicants this year so I’m assuming that LLU also got an overwhelming amount of applicants.
  8. 14/50 is not bad odds! Keep your head up. All CRNA schools are looking for students that are a perfect fit for their particular program. We will never know what that is until we get accepted. In theory, you could get all the questions wrong but if they like you then you still have a fighting chance. I also heard that on the 18th we would be getting individual calls.
  9. I took a travel assignment in Southern California and the ICU's here have been 3 to 1 staffing for the last 3 weeks! Most of the ICU nurses only care for COVID-19 patients while the few clean patients are placed in the CVICU. 3:1 ratio, in my opinion, is simply ridiculous. You are stuck mindlessly running around the entire shift trying to complete never-ending tasks. Every patient is on at least 6 drips which never seem to stop alarming. I usually don't start charting until 30 minutes before the end of my shift. On the floor I usually work on, we have 21 patients for 7 nurses and 1-2 resource nurses. No CNAs, no LVNs, and 2 RT's for the 16-20 Vents. To add to our troubles, we have been putting 2 patients in 1 room. Our main ICU is equally as busy but they generally have an extra resource nurse, a charge nurse, and upper-level nurses that can lend a helping hand.
  10. Good Luck! I also had my interview this morning and feel a little defeated. Now the waiting game begins!
  11. I will make sure to ask that question if I ever get an interview
  12. Thanks for your responses! Glad the trolling comment got your attention LOL I attending the virtual information sessions for LLU and the Director stated that we will complete the first 6 months of clinical rotations in the LLU OR so they can keep an eye on us. This might be new from previous cohorts? I think as nurses, many of us definitely understand where you are coming from when you state that the MD's treat others like second class citizens. I definitely want a program where learning is encouraged and a lot of this political nonsense can be put aside. Almost Christmas and still no news.... I wonder if we will find out anything this year?
  13. Don’t bother. I think he is just trolling. Hasn’t replied back to any of us after making that claim.
  14. Nothing yet. I guess no news is better than bad news?
  15. I got my invitation to interview this morning
  16. Not yet, but I did receive an automated message from OSHU that a PIN has been created for me.
  17. Can you elaborate on this statement? Why shouldn’t we consider LLU?
  18. I believe that there were 2 rounds of invites for the exams. My preceptor said that interview invites will be sent out starting next week.
  19. How long did it take to get your quiz scheduled after receiving the initial email?
  20. You don’t get instructions. They basically send you out the schedule for the interview with times. You will do great!
  21. Anyone have an idea as to how many applicants were put on the wait list?
  22. OK here is a summary of my conversation with an admissions counselor: We are doing the ICU assessment testing all week and possibly next week for NAP. It is still possible to be invited to take the ICU assessment exam. Invites to interviews will be sent out via email from December 3rd through December 11th. NAP interviews will be held January 7, 8, 11, 12, 15, 2021. Interviews will be about 40-45 minutes long and will be virtual due to the pandemic. The NAP program will be inviting around 50 applicants to interview.
  23. I believe I turned in the final requirements on the 28th or 29th.
