  1. Thats so funny! My brother just went off to college 6 months ago, and came back for the holidays...and started saying "soda". I was like "what the...??"
  2. Hello!!! I am from Zanesville. Been a LPN for 5 years now, worked in hospitals, mostly med/surg-general surgery, but one year of ortho/neuro in Lima. Now I'm in charge at a local LTC on the largest unit. Thought I needed a change. But my ultimate goal is to get back to Hospital work, and Traveling.
  3. Hi there! I am also searching for the "right" travel company to go with. I have ran into a website posted by someone on here that has helped me realize a little more about these companies. Here is the website...hope it helps you and others...http://www.highwayhypodermics.com/travel_nursing_companies.htm I also got a detailed summary of the Top Ten Companies by requesting by email.
  4. So...let me get this straight. I can go to California, for instance, and walk out with a temp permit?? I have an Ohio LPN license. If I get a "temp" does that mean I would be able to work that same day or next??? I am looking into doing traveling and need other state licensures.... ~~Still Confused...please help~~
  5. .....You have to put your name (with fellow co-workers) on peices of paper & draw out of a hat to see who "wins" the chance to help the doctor do an I & D on a rectal abscess.....LOL true story!! Guess who won!!
  6. Yeah, I would have to say I'm on the fence with this, but know where you're coming from. I know from my experience, I have been told by many of my patients, that they would rather take a LPN (lowest paid nurse..haha) over a RN b/c of the passion & care they have received vs the RN who "seems like she doesn't have any time for me". I am not saying that I do a better job, b/c I know how much MORE an RN has to do that is "out of my scope". That IS why I have the "time" to comfort and talk with my patients.
  7. I like your response!!! I went to vocational school at age 16, and graduated & passed boards when I was 18. I have heard many versions of the meaning of LPN..... "Little Pretend Nurse" for one!! No pretending here!! With 5 years under my belt, I am now motivating myself to finish my at home program for my RN....$$$
  8. Sounds exactly like me. I have the same questions, plus more. I have been researching for a couple months now, many different companies, not only to make the right decision but also b/c some companies do not offer LPN traveler opportunities. I came here to see if I could get some kind of answers/suggestions. Wish you the best of luck.
