  1. Hi everyone! I am looking for a PNP program that is completely online. I have a clinic in my town where I can get my clinical hours completed. Has anyone gone through a completely online MSN program? Are there any that you can recommend? I was looking at Regis, but I've heard mixed reviews and they are not cheap! I appreciate any info anyone could provide.
  2. I'm kind of going through the same things with my Principal. He's snapped at me twice already this year, very unprofessional, and for things that he was not right about. He apologized both times but just sucks it happens in the first place. I love our administrative assistants and the vice principal is great. Some teachers are great, and others are obnoxious. I'm just not sure I can put up with this guy and his hot-headedness anymore. A position is opening up at our high school so I'm seriously thinking about moving on. Just like mentioned above, you won't change the culture of the school so you have to determine whether you want to put up with it or leave
  3. I hear ya. From a nurse perspective, you did everything correctly. I just find being in a school environment, they beat to a different drum. Can't tell you how many times I did my "nurse assessment" but then had a parent would be upset for the most ridiculous thing. For peace of mind, I just call and make them aware. If they ask if they need to pick the kid up I'll tell them that I think they can finish they day but will definitely give them a call back if the kid comes back in. It's annoying but then I'm covered and I definitely document everything!
  4. Always call for any face/head injury. I'm in junior high and still do this. It's not worth the headache/stress to not make that 2 minute call. Takes the liability away from you.
  5. Our school, even though public, has a dress code (khaki's and a polo), so I'm dressy/ casual. So slacks and a top but I usually wear my sketchers because I do a lot of running around.
  6. Had a 7th grader come in with total attitude then called her mom on the phone and used her baby voice, come on now!

Congratulations! I was just hired as well the FT nurse for our junior high (7th and 8th grade). I have been subbing in our district for the last couple of years and worked as the FT nurse in a middle school in a different state. Fun age group but they're definitely a handful! Good luck with everything!
