Hate night shifts
Apply for a day shift where you currently work and stick it out until something becomes available. I would at least complete a year where you are in order to have some experience on your resume.

Overcoming Clumsiness
My dad tells me the same thing whenever we happen to talk on the phone as I'm heading into work. "Keep your eyes and hands in the same place." Basically, be cognizant of what you are doing at all times. Don't think that you can absentmindedly do anything, even after you've been practicing for a while.

Shift Differental
The hospital that I work in offers shift diffs for both evening 3pm - 11pm and nights 11pm-7a, but nights are paid at a higher rate.

Back to night shift...am I crazy?
I don't think it's crazy at all. I still rotate every few weeks, but that's just my personal preference. Good luck!

New grad ICU residency tips?
I agree with the above post. Realize that you know absolutely nothing (but you will learn so much). Ask questions. Acknowledge your mistakes and LEARN FROM THEM. Work hard. Offer to help your co-workers and ask to observe/participate if you have completed all of your assigned tasks. If you have more than one preceptor, you will likely hear/see more than one way to do something at some point. Know how to access unit and hospital policies. Even on the toughest/saddest days (and you will have them, it's inevitable), remember that your hard work and diligence helps people in an extremely vulnerable time in their lives. If something about your patient doesn't look/sound right (you'll get better at picking up on these things with time), speak up! They depend on you. And even when you're in the middle of orientation and feel like you are drowning, know that it gets easier. One day you will get to work and actually feel like you know what you're doing, and it. is. awesome. Nursing (healthcare in general, really) is a career of lifelong learning. Enjoy it.

MTSA 2019
Yeah, luckily I worked all weekend so that kept me occupied. I'm off today, though, and trying to not stress out haha

LSU CRNA 2019
I hope not. I just saw that I had an email yesterday, and when i went to sign up only the last two dates were available. I'm looking at CCRN review material and studying vents and the meds I frequently give. I think just like other interviews knowing your patient population is most important.

MTSA 2019
They interviewed close to 160 and usually accept between 70 and 75. Longest. Weekend. Ever.

LSU CRNA 2019
I got an email last week asking for a letter of recommendation so they are definitely still reviewing applications.
