Just got the call from one of the professors! ? congrats everyone!

Yes same! I remember one question that I answered wrong and I thought was right but I was so nervous I switched them up! I was happy after the interview bc they make you feel so good, but now I am just anxiously waiting.

At this point the wait is excruciating. I keep checking my email and junk mail to see if there's any chance they've already been compiling the list and maybe just adding on with each interview set. At the end of the day, we still have to wait so I'm just trying to calm my mind as best as possible! Other than that I really enjoyed their overall interview style. It was actually pretty fun.

Interview next week. Nervous as well. Just trying to stay positive and stay grounded mentally bc I'm excited but also very humble right now haha. All the best to everyone!

Definitely not. Everyone’s interviews are all going to be a little different. Maybe you talk fast and they got through all your questions faster? Or maybe off the bat you were just a great applicant and they already knew they wanted you? The truth is we really don’t know how we all did. It’s just a waiting game at this point but in the meanwhile try to keep your head up. Just know that you did you’re best and have done all the hard work already! Good luck!

Hi everyone! have been watching this thread for some time now and thought I would drop in and join you all. I applied, have my interview coming up next week and am hoping it goes well. *crosses fingers* good luck to everyone!

No prob! Yes, it's two full years so I started last August and our class graduates mid 2018. They accept 40-60 each year. My class started at a little more than 50 or 50 exactly (i can't remember sorry!). My experience so far.. that's a great question. So far.. I feel like the school still has it's kinks that need to be worked out which I guess should've been expected since it's still somewhat new.. (like 2012 new I think!) You will do A LOT of reading so if you plan on attending this school, just begin to prepare yourself mentally now. I can honestly say though you will LEARN a lot. I've spoken with some nurses and they are surprised by the amount of information that I know. I, myself, am quite surprised by how much information that I've learned. First semester we had exams every monday. It's not like that the whole program but they did a SPECTACULAR job of keeping us on our toes this past semester. My advice is that if you enjoy reading and can take on a real challenge, go ahead and apply especially if it's your only or last option. On a more realistic level, there are programs out there that are most definitely more organized and actually teach the students. On the same note, this schools NCLEX pass rate was like a 95% last semester (or something close to that) so apparently they must be doing something right even if I can't necessarily see it right now. As far as professors, there's GREAT and there's below average. The good top the bad though. GOOD LUCK :)

The program is two years exactly which is great because a lot of other schools are two and a half years, three years, etc. It's 6 semesters so fall, spring, summer, fall, spring, summer. When I took the Hesi, I didn't take the critical thinking portion either so I re-registered to take the hesi again and then only took the critical thinking portion of the hesi the second time. When you're doing your application, you can just specify on your application what sections were taken, scores, etc and then attach a print out of the scores. As far as commute, I know students that commute from dallas currently. I am originally from dallas but I moved to commerce as I felt like that's what would work for me best given that I don't have any kids, am a full-time student, etc. This first semester we were in school pretty much from Mon-Thursday or Mon-Tuesday depending on if we had clinicals that week or not (we had 6 weeks of clinicals that semester) but for next semester we are in school only Monday and Tuesday and then we have clinicals one day of the week since next semester is 10-weeks of clinicals. A good run down of our schedule from last semester was Monday: 7:30-8:30 am (TESTS), 10:00 am-1:00 pm or 1:30 pm-4:30 pm, Tuesday: 8-10 (one class) then 10-12 (next class), Wednesday: either 8-12 or 1-5, and Thursday: either 8-12, or 1-5. They tell you which class time you have so thats why I put the "or". There were clinical weeks so on clinical weeks, the wednesday and thursday classes were replaced with a clinical. I hope that wasn't too confusing LOL. For example, if I have clinicals this week, I show up to clinicals ONE day of the week instead of going to class wednesday and thursday. I think you have a great chance getting in with your hesi score! 82% is definitely not a low score.

Hey guys :) Congrats on how far along you all have come thus far! What a journey! Luckily it's almost over and you're getting closer to the finish line. I stumbled upon this thread after callen20 posted on the other thread and I thought to give you all as much input as possible since I too was once in your position. I'm a current student in TAMU-C's nursing program and am set to graduate next year. I'm only a semester in but I can give you as much information as what I currently know and have observed so shoot away! :)
