  1. I have dealt with it during a clinical rotation. The instructor would make inappropriate comments about various ethnic groups although they were ailing patients.
  2. Keep us posted!!!
  3. I like Saunders too, Congratulations!!!
  4. Congrats Girl, I am a senior BSN student. I will be taking boards in the Spring.
  5. Congrats Girlie!!!
  6. I am applying to both programs b/c I am interested in both programs for different reasons.
  7. I just lost a fellow student who dropped Peds last week & it hurts. You just have to be successful in their honor!
  8. Being prepared for clinical(s), as well as the exam(s). The degree of info that you are expected to master. The fact that 1 test can make or break you! The fact that instructors can be your down fall if they don't like you & your savior if they do!!! Good luck!
  9. My hospital just started doing it!
  10. Congrats, fledgling nurse!!!
  11. Congrats on your pinning today! I graduate in Dec '06 & I plan to hit the road about 3 months after. Good luck.
  12. Go on the internet to Google. Type in American Nurses in Europe. About 3 dozen travel agencies will pop up that can send you abroad!!! Good luck!
  13. She may have an infection of a female nature, like Trichamoniasis or something. It may not be her armpits at all!
  14. No way!!! Report her immediately to the liscensure board in your state! In Michigan that is grounds for dismissal, suspense of liscense, perhaps loss of liscense. On a step down unit, 2 nurses on 2 consecutive shifts did not have a pt connected to a heart monitor. When the 3rd shift nurse arrived & discovered a pt was not connected to telemetry for 16 hours...both were fired(regardless of seniority) & had to get lawyers because their liscense was being investigated.
  15. No problem! I will not have my BSN until Dec '06 though! Talk later!
  16. Yeah Girl, I feel the same way! I am deciding between the same specialties:CRNA,CRNM & NP. I think I will apply to each program @ about 7 schools & see who accepts me!
  17. Congrats on graduation! You will do well, I'm sure...I graduate next December!
  18. Thanks! I am willing to go anywhere for anesthesia school, do you have any suggestions?
  19. Congrats!!! I am an African American woman with a BSN in 2006. I too am considering applying for a CRNA program. I am willing to go out of state, where has everyone applied to anesthesia school?
  20. Thanks! I just might have to do this ASAP!
  21. What is the name/description of cover of your book(s)?
  22. I agree that you should stick with one publisher, but I have more than one book written by Saunders to reinforce the learning!
  23. You know I am experiencing similiar treatment right now! My OB instructor is Caucasian & from the South. She gives the white girls less complicated patients and expects even less of them and gave the B+(s) @ mid term. I got a C @ midterm and my careplans are well thought out, I provide good patient care and I am always going the extra mile to show my competency as a nurse. She said I am unorganized and do not prioritize my care. She also treats a Chinese girl in my clinical group the same way. Although I am usually an A or B student, I will have to take a C from this woman, pass the class and then go on about my business. What do you guys think?
